Fan Changlong
Fan Changlong (; born May 1947) is a retired general in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the People's Republic of China. He was a Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and formerly served as commander of the Jinan Military Region. Biography Fan was born in Dandong, Liaoning. He joined the PLA and the Chinese Communist Party in 1969. He became a major general in 1995, a lieutenant general in 2002, and general on July 15, 2008. Fan has been an alternate member of the 16th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and a full member of the 17th Central Committee. In 2012, ahead of the 18th Party Congress, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission. People's Liberation Army
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The PLA consists of five service branches: the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force, and Strategic Support Force. Zhao Zongqi
Zhao Zongqi (; born 1955) is a general (''shang jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China and a former Commander of the Western Theater Command. Zhao was born in Bin County, Heilongjiang province. In his earlier year he was the deputy chief of staff of the Tibet Military District. In August 1999, he was promoted to chief of staff of the Tibet Military District, then deputy commanding officer of the Chongqing Mobilization District. In October 2004, he was named commander of the 14th Group Army. In September 2007, he was transferred to the 13th Group Army as commander. Chen Bingde
Chen Bingde (; born July 1941) is a retired general ('' shangjiang'') in the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He was the Director-General of the General Armaments Department until September 2007. In this position he acted as the head of the space program of China. He then served as chief of the PLA General Staff Department. He retired in 2012, and was succeeded by General Fang Fenghui as chief of General Staff. Biography Chen was born July 1941 in Nantong, Jiangsu. Li Shiming
Li Shiming (; born December 1948) is a retired general (''shang jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. He served as commander of the Chengdu Military Region. Biography Born in Santai County, Sichuan Province, he joined the PLA in April 1968, and the Communist Party of China in December of the same year. In December 2006, he was appointed vice commander of the PLA Chengdu Military Region. In September 2007, he was promoted to commander of the Chengdu Military Region. Shenyang Military Region
The Shenyang Military Region was one of seven military regions for the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It has command and control of military and armed police forces in the three northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Liaoning, which also form Military Districts. This region is now superseded by the Northern Theater Command. The Shenyang Military Region was left with unchanged boundaries since the late 1960s. It is bordered internally by the Beijing Military Region to the west. Externally, it is bordered by North Korea to the south east and the Russian Far East to the north. Prior to the Cultural Revolution, military region commanders tended to remain in post for long periods. The 78th Group Army (), is a military formation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Ground Forces (PLAGF).
