Fundación CB Granada
The Fundación Club Baloncesto Granada, also known as Coviran Granada by sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Granada, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. It home arena is the Palacio de Deportes. History The Fundación CBG was founded in 2006 as an entity associated to basketball club CB Granada, with the aim to promote basketball and other nonprofit activities in the province of Granada. In 2012, after the dissolution of CB Granada, the entity decided to create a senior basketball team that could replace the defunct club in the city. In its first season, the club promoted to Liga EBA after finishing as runner-up of the Andalusian group of Primera División de Baloncesto. Two years later, in 2015, Covirán Granada qualifies to the final stage of Liga EBA and finishes winning its group in Albacete, achieving the promotion to LEB Plata, the third tier in Spanish basketball. Liga ACB
The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administered by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Primera FEB and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. The competition was founded as the ACB Primera División on 1983 following the decision of clubs in the Liga Española de Baloncesto (1957–1983), Liga Nacional, founded in 1957, to break away from the Spanish Basketball Federation and professionalize the league. COVID-19 Pandemic In Spain
The COVID-19 pandemic in Spain has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus was first confirmed to have spread to Spain on 31 January 2020, when a German tourist tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in La Gomera, Canary Islands. Post-hoc genetic analysis has shown that at least 15 strains of the virus had been imported, and community transmission began by mid-February. By 13 March, cases had been confirmed in all 50 provinces of the country. A partially unconstitutional lockdown was imposed on 14 March 2020. On 29 March, it was announced that, beginning the following day, all non-essential workers were ordered to remain at home for the next 14 days. 2014–15 Liga EBA Season
The 2014–15 Liga EBA season was the 21st edition of the Liga EBA. This is the fourth division of Spanish basketball. Four teams will be promoted to LEB Plata. The regular season started in October 2014 and finished in March 2015. Promotion playoffs to LEB Plata were played in April 2015. The Cotonou Agreement (French: ''Accord de Cotonou'') is a treaty between the European Union (EU) and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States ("ACP countries").
