''From the Cradle to Enslave'' is the second EP by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, released on 30 October 1999 by Music for Nations (Europe) and Metal Blade (US). Recording and content The EP was recorded during a period of upheaval for the band, with Gian Pyres and Nick Barker leaving prior to its release (Pyres would return for the recording of ''Midian'') and Stuart Anstis and Les Smith departing the band soon afterwards. ''From the Cradle to Enslave'' contains two original compositions: the title track and "Of Dark Blood and Fucking". The rest of the disc consists of a re-recording of a track from the album '' Dusk... and Her Embrace'' and two or three cover versions, depending on the region (the US release includes "Dawn of Eternity" instead of the European version's title track remix "Pervert's Church"). Cradle Of Filth
Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved originally from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic metal and other metal genres. Their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by Gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films. Anathema (band)
Anathema were an English rock music, rock band from Liverpool. The group was formed in 1990 by Vincent Cavanagh, Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist John Douglas, and vocalist Darren White. The band maintained an active concert schedule throughout their career. They first toured in 1992 with the American death metal band Cannibal Corpse; they since performed throughout Europe, the United States, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Turkey. Daniel Cavanagh
Daniel Cavanagh (born 6 October 1972) is an English guitarist and singer who formed the British band Anathema in 1990 with his brother Vincent Cavanagh. He is the band's principal songwriter, a role he had previously shared with bassist Duncan Patterson until Patterson's departure in 1998. Cavanagh has been involved in other projects including Leafblade, an acoustic & Celtic rock band, (guitars and vocals), and Antimatter, the former band of ex-Anathema member Duncan Patterson. He also played guitar on the album ''In the Mushroom'' with Lid. Darren "Daz" White
Darren White is an English musician raised in Liverpool and best known as the original vocalist for the band Anathema. His low death grunts on the band's early recordings pinpointed the group's early identification with the death/doom genre. White also fronted other bands, including The Blood Divine with former members of Cradle of Filth (for which he did backing vocals/spoken words on ''The Principle of Evil Made Flesh'') and Dead Men Dream. His project, Serotonal, has been described as " drone/atmospheric doom". In February 2009 Serotonal signed a record deal with Union Black Records, and debut album ''Monumental – Songs of Misery and Hope'' was released on 24 November 2009. Glenn Allen Anzalone (born June 23, 1955), better known by his stage name Glenn Danzig, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, actor, film director and record producer. He is the founder of the rock bands Misfits, Samhain, and Danzig. He owns the Evilive record label as well as Verotik, an adult-oriented comic book publishing company. Daniel Lloyd Davey (born 25 July 1973), known professionally as Dani Filth, is an English singer who is the lead vocalist, lyricist and founding member of the extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. Personal life Daniel Lloyd Davey was born to Susan Janet Moore and Laurence John Davey in Hertford and is the eldest child of four. He married Toni King on 31 October 2005 in Ipswich.
