''Erotica'' is the third and final studio album by British alternative rock band the Darling Buds, released in 1992 by Epic Records. The album shares a name with, and a similar cover to, the Madonna album of the same name, which was released two weeks later. Critical reception ''Trouser Press'' wrote: "Lewis comes into her own on the aptly named ''Erotica'' (also made with producer Street), on which a fine band matures in sound yet still capitalizes on its original strength—namely, brilliant hookcraft." The Darling Buds
The Darling Buds are an alternative rock band from Newport, South Wales. The band formed in 1986 and were named after the H. E. Bates novel '' The Darling Buds of May'' – a title taken in turn, from the third line of Shakespeare's Sonnet 18: "Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May". Career Influenced by the catchy simple sound of the early Beatles as well as that of Blondie, the band created melodic, hook-driven, short-duration singles. John William "Jo" Callis (born 2 May 1951) is an English musician and songwriter who played guitar with the Edinburgh based punk rock band The Rezillos (under the name Luke Warm), and post-punk band Boots for Dancing before joining The Human League.Strong, Martin C.
