Emily Pfalzer
Emily Pfalzer Matheson (born June 14, 1993) is an American women's ice hockey player who was the first captain the Buffalo Beauts of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) from 2015-2017. Internationally, Pfalzer plays for United States women's national ice hockey team and has won a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship, 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship, 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship and the 2018 Winter Olympics. Playing career NCAA Pfalzer played for Boston College for her entire NCAA career, 2011–2015, and was the first defender in the program to reach 100 career points. PHF Pfalzer made her professional debut in the PHF on October 11, 2015, with the Buffalo Beauts playing against the Boston Pride. During the 2015–16 season, Pfalzer was named the captain of the Buffalo Beauts on November 11, 2015. The Boston College Eagles are a Division I college hockey program that represent Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Mike Matheson
Michael Matheson (born February 27, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). Matheson was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round, 23rd overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career As a youth, Matheson played in the 2006 and 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from the West Island. He began his junior career in the Quebec Midget AAA league playing with the Lac St. Louis Lions from 2009 to 2011. Matheson then left to join the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he led all defencemen in scoring in 2011–12. Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award
The Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award is given to the top female college ice hockey player in the United States. The award is presented during the women's annual ice hockey championship, the Frozen Four. The award was first presented in 1998. The award is named in honor of the late Patty Kazmaier-Sandt, a four-year varsity letter winner and All Ivy League honoree for the Princeton University women's ice hockey team from 1981 through 1986. She also played field hockey and lacrosse. She died on February 15, 1990 at the age of 28 from a rare blood disease. Patty was the daughter of Heisman Trophy winner Dick Kazmaier. Hilary Knight (ice Hockey)
Hilary Atwood Knight (born July 12, 1989) is an American ice hockey forward with the PWHPA and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She previously played for the Les Canadiennes de Montreal of the CWHL and the Boston Pride of the NWHL, with whom she won the inaugural Isobel Cup. Knight competed for the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program, as well as for Choate Rosemary Hall. In her first year at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Knight helped the team place second in the NCAA championships. The following year she led her team in points as the Badgers went on to win the National Championship. 1st NWHL All-Star Game
The 1st NWHL All-Star Game took place on January 24, 2016 at HarborCenter in Buffalo, New York. The event featured two 20-minute periods in a 4-on-4 format and a Skills Competition. Team Pfalzer entered the game with a 4-0 lead having won all events in the Skills Competition. This edition of the All-Star Game featured a "fantasy draft" format in order to determine the rosters.
