Elmore is a town in Elmore County, Alabama, United States. Although initially incorporated in 1906, it lapsed and was not reincorporated again until 1997. At the 2010 census the population was 1,262, up from 199 in 2000. It is part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Elmore is located in western Elmore County at (32.542314, -86.315455). It is bordered to the west by Millbrook and to the south by Coosada. Alabama State Route 14 passes through the town, leading east to Wetumpka and west to Prattville. Montgomery, the state capital, is to the south via Cook Road and Coosada Parkway. ''The Amazing World of Gumball'' is an animated sitcom created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. Elmore Court is a grade II* listed mansion, located at Elmore in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire, England. The original building dates from between 1564 and 1588. History The house has been the family seat of the Guise Baronets for nearly 800 years, first granted by John of Burgh, who was part of the court of Henry III with the rent set at "One clove of Gillyflower" each year. The current house was built between 1564 and 1588 and altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Guise Mausoleum, built in 1733, is in the churchyard of St John the Baptist, the local church. The Guise family were non-resident from about 1685 to about 1845, when Sir John Wright Guise took up residence. The house was used as a school from 1778, originally under the Revd. Elmore is a small town in Victoria north-east of Bendigo on the Campaspe River. Elmore is close to the Whipstick State Park. At the , Elmore had a population of 776. Lake Elmore is a lake located in and named after Elmore, Vermont. The lake is located northwest of Elmore, and it drains into the Lamoille River The Lamoille River is a river which runs through northern Vermont and drains into Lake Champlain. Elmore County is a county located in the east central portion of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 87,977. Its county seat is Wetumpka. Its name is in honor of General John A. Elmore. Elmore County is part of the Montgomery, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Elmore is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. It was granted by the Vermont Republic in 1780, and was named for Colonel Samuel Elmore (1720–1805), one of the original grantees. Elmore City is a town in Garvin County, Oklahoma, United States. This town is fifty-eight miles south of Oklahoma City. The population was 697 at the 2010 census. It was named after J. O. Elmore. There are two main highways running through Elmore City. One of the Highways is Oklahoma State Highway 29, running west–east. The other is Oklahoma State Highway 74, running north–south.
