Electoral District Of Narre Warren North
The electoral district of Narre Warren North is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly and includes the suburbs of Hallam, Narre Warren, Narre Warren North and parts of Berwick, Endeavour Hills and Harkaway. Narre Warren North was created as a seat with a notional Liberal majority in an electoral redistribution before the November 2002 state election. In the Labor landslide of that election, new Labor candidate Luke Donnellan overcame the notional majority to defeat Liberal MLC Maree Luckins, who had been attempting to switch to the Legislative Assembly. He was subsequently re-elected in 2006 and 2010, and again in 2014 after the 2013 redistribution slightly increased his majority. 2002 Victorian State Election
The 2002 Victorian state election, held on Saturday, 30 November 2002, was for the 55th Parliament of Victoria. It was held to elect the 88 members of Victorian Legislative Assembly and 22 members of the 44-member Legislative Council. The Labor government led by Premier Steve Bracks was returned for a second term with a landslide, taking 62 seats, a gain of 20. It was easily the biggest majority that Labor had ever won in Victoria, and one of Labor's best-ever performances at the state level in Australia. Additionally, it was only the third time that a Labor government had been reelected in Victoria. Labor also recorded 57.8 percent of the two-party preferred vote, their highest on record for a Victorian election. Electoral districts of Victoria are the electoral districts, commonly referred to as "seats" or "electorates", into which the Australian State of Victoria is divided for the purpose of electing members of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, one of the two houses of the Parliament of the State. The State is divided into 88 single-member districts. The Legislative Assembly has had 88 electorates since the 1985 election, increased from 81 previously. 2022 Victorian State Election
The 2022 Victorian state election was held on Saturday, 26 November 2022 to elect the 60th Parliament of Victoria. All 88 seats in the Legislative Assembly (lower house) and all 40 seats in the Legislative Council (upper house) were up for election at the time the writs were issued, however the election in the district of Narracan was deferred due to the death of a candidate. The second-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Daniel Andrews, won a third four-year term, defeating the Liberal/ National Coalition opposition, led by Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, increasing their majority from their 2018 landslide election result. Maree Therese Luckins Davenport (born 14 March 1968) is an Australian politician. She was a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 1996 to 2002, representing Waverley Province as Maree Therese Luckins. Luke Anthony Donnellan (born 26 March 1966) is a former Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly between 2002 and his retirement in 2022, representing Narre Warren North. He was the Minister for Child Protection and the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers in the Second Andrews Ministry from December 2018 until October 2021. He also served as the Minister for Roads and Road Safety and Minister for Ports in the First Andrews Ministry from December 2014 to December 2018.
