This is a list of Portuguese monarchs who ruled from the establishment of the Kingdom of Portugal, in 1139, to the deposition of the Portuguese monarchy and creation of the Portuguese Republic with the 5 October 1910 revolution. Through the nearly 800 years in which Portugal was a monarchy, the kings held various other titles and pretensions. Two kings of Portugal, Ferdinand I and Afonso V, also claimed the crown of Castile. Eduardo Ribeiro dos Santos (born 5 August 1980 in São João, Piauí) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as striker for Ríver. Career France Dos Santos scored his first goal for Guingamp, a penalty against Strasbourg. Eddie "Among Ed" Tongol Panlilio (born December 6, 1953) is a Filipino Roman Catholic priest and Governor of Pampanga. He was suspended from his priestly duties upon announcing his intention to run as governor. He was elected governor in May 2007 in a three-way race against incumbent governor Mark Lapid and provincial board member Lilia Pineda. In February 2010, following a recount of votes due to an election protest, the Comelec ruled that Lilia Pineda had won the 2007 election over Panlilio. Eduardo Enrique Castro Luque (12 December 1963 – 14 September 2012) was the deputy-elect of Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico and a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). Born and raised in Ciudad Obregón, Castro Luque ran for office in his municipality and was elected as a state legislature for Sonora in the Congress of Mexico on 1 July 2012. Before running for office, he had served as the marketing manager of the Yaquis de Obregón baseball team in his hometown and was working at his privately owned publicity agency. Eduardo Carriles (1923–2020) was a Spanish lawyer, businessman and politician who served as the minister of finance between 1976 and 1977. Biography Carriles was born in Santander on 28 November 1923. He was a lawyer by profession. He served as the general secretary of a company, Aeronáutica Industrial, and director of various other companies. Carriles was part of the reformist Tácito group, but he left the group with others to establish the Unión Democrática Española. He was part of the Unión when he was appointed minister of finance to the cabinet led by Adolfo Suárez on 7 July 1976.
