Earl Barish (born 1943 in Fort William, Ontario) is a businessman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His family developed the Dickie Dee ice cream mobile brand. He also owned the IBA (the International Basketball Association) team, the Winnipeg Cyclone. In March 2006, Barish was appointed President and CEO of 4328796 Manitoba Ltd. This numbered company was the major shareholder in Salisbury House, a chain of 22 (at the time of Barish's nomination) restaurants in the Winnipeg area. The chain was sold in December 2017 to a partnership that includes restaurateur Noel Bernier, the Metis Economic Development Fund (MEDF), David Filmon, and several senior managers of Salisbury House. In July 2019, it was announced that Barish had purchased Noel Bernier's shares in the Salisbury House chain back less than two years after selling it. Earl Black (born 1942) is a retired professor of Political Science at Rice University who specialized in studies of the politics of the Southern United States. Earl Black earned a B.A. at the University of Texas at Austin in 1964 and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1968. He has studied the relationship between politics and race or ethnicity in the South. He and his twin brother, Merle Black, who was a professor of political science at Emory University, have written several books on the politics of the South and the United States as a whole. ''Motley's Crew'' was an American newspaper comic strip by Ben Templeton and Tom Forman with satirical social commentary. With readership spread among 250 newspapers in the United States alone, the comic strip acquired a highly devoted but relatively small group of fans during its 23 years of operation. The comic strip, in general, was about a blue-collar worker named Mike Motley and his wife Mabel Motley. Truman Motley (Mike and Mabel's son) eventually fell in love and married a woman named Tacoma. Earl Derr Biggers (August 26, 1884 – April 5, 1933) was an American novelist and playwright. His novels featuring the fictional Chinese American detective Charlie Chan were adapted into popular films made in the United States and China. Biography The son of Robert J. and Emma E. Earl Holmes Bell (born August 25, 1955) is a retired American pole vaulter. He competed at the 1976, 1984 and 1988 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1984, placing fourth in 1988 and sixth in 1976. He also briefly held the world record in 1976, and coached several of America's leading vaulters during his retirement years. In 2002, he was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame.
