Eishockeyclub Red Bull München (or EHC Red Bull München; English: ''Munich Red Bulls Ice Hockey Club'') is a professional ice hockey team based in Munich, Germany. The club is a member of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), the highest level of play in professional German ice hockey. Between 2016 and 2018, the club won 3 DEL titles in a row, as well as a German Cup in 2010. The team plays its home games at SAP Garden. History After the establishment of the club Eishockeyclub HC München 1998 on 19 January 1998, HC Munich began play in the Bezirksliga, where they won the district championship. The club quickly moved up the ranks in German hockey in their first decade, winning league titles in both the Bayernliga. In 2003 the club changed its name to Eishockeyclub München. After getting promoted in 2003 from the Bavarian League to the Oberliga, the senior team was outsourced from the club to the EHC München Spielbetriebs GmbH in 2004. The 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga was the second tier of Ice hockey in Germany until 2012/13 and has since been replaced by DEL2. 2018–19 Champions Hockey League
The 2018–19 Champions Hockey League was the fifth season of the Champions Hockey League, a European ice hockey tournament. The tournament was competed by 32 teams, and qualification was on sporting merits only. The six founding leagues were represented by between three and five teams (based on a four-year league ranking), while seven "challenge leagues" were represented by one team each. One place was awarded to the Continental Cup champion. Unlike in the first three editions, founding teams did not automatically qualify. Champions Hockey League
The Champions Hockey League is a European first-level ice hockey tournament. Launched in the 2014–15 season by 26 clubs, 6 leagues and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the tournament features top teams across Europe. Background The IIHF launched a tournament with the same name in 2008 to coincide with the IIHF's 100th anniversary. The tournament's only season was played between 8 October 2008 and 28 January 2009, and was won by the ZSC Lions who got to play in the 2009 Victoria Cup game as a result. The IIHF planned to launch another season but was ultimately forced to cancel the tournament due to problems finding sponsors during the concurrent global economic crisis and failure to agree on a tournament format. The 2021–22 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 28th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. It started on 9 September 2021 and ended on 4 May 2022. 2018–19 DEL Season
The 2018–19 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 25th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga running from 14 September 2018 to 30 April 2019. All 14 clubs from the previous year and the Löwen Frankfurt applied for a license. The season saw the same teams as last year, as all teams were given their license. After a points-per-game record during the regular season with 2,23 points per game, the Adler Mannheim won the title for their seventh time defeating EHC Red Bull München 4–1 in the finals. The 2019–20 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 26th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga running from 13 September 2019 to 10 March 2020. The season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany, and EHC Red Bull München, which had won the regular season, was selected by the DEL for the 2020–21 Champions Hockey League, as final regular season standings in lieu of playoffs were used to determine DEL nominations to the league.
