End Time (Brutal Truth Album)
''End Time'' is the sixth and final studio album by grindcore band Brutal Truth. It was released on September 27, 2011, by Relapse Records on CD, LP, and as a deluxe CD box set, which includes "six bonus tracks, a 20-page booklet, six custom art flats, a marijuana-scented disc card, and more". Writing Using the track "End Time" as title track of the album was vocalist Kevin Sharpe's idea. Bassist Dan Lilker wrote the lyrics for the song "Twenty Bag": "It's about when we ran out of weed while we were writing. Semi-humorous, but actually quite important. ..I wrote lyrics about ''how'' we do what we do." "Control Room" with "a whole bunch of loops and weird, noisy stuff" is the work of drummer Richard Hoak; Lilker and guitarist Erik Burke didn't perform on this song. The track is too long to fit on the vinyl version of the album. Brutal Truth
Brutal Truth was an American grindcore band from New York City, formed by ex-Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, and Stormtroopers of Death bass guitarist Dan Lilker in 1990. The group disbanded in 1999, but reformed in 2006 and continued to release music until 2014. History Brutal Truth was formed in 1990 in New York City. The band was originally signed to Earache Records, on which they released two albums, '' Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses'' and '' Need to Control'', as well as an EP entitled '' Perpetual Conversion'', and 7-inch singles for the songs "Ill Neglect" and "Godplayer". During this time, music videos were made for the songs "Ill Neglect", "Collateral Damage" and "Godplayer". Brutal Truth were frustrated with Earache Records and switched to Relapse Records, known for its roster of grindcore acts, with whom they stayed until the band's demise. Scott Hull (musician)
Scott Hull (born March 4, 1971) is an American grindcore musician, and the current guitarist and producer for Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Japanese Torture Comedy Hour. He has been part of many other projects including the controversial band Anal Cunt (also known as AC or AxCx). Aside from his music works, he currently works as a government computer specialist. Hull is noted for his experimental style of guitar playing that incorporates various influences, as well as for his use of Eight string guitar, eight string and seven string guitars. Robert Piotrowicz (born 1973) is a Polish sound artist, composer, and improviser. Together with Anna Zaradny he runs Musica Genera label and annual festival of the same name. He works within contemporary electroacoustic music field. Piotrowicz is an instrumentalist whose main tools are modular synthesizer and guitar. Dan Lilker
Daniel Adam Lilker (born October 18, 1964) is an American musician best known as a bass player, but also guitarist, pianist, and vocalist. He has played bass in numerous heavy metal bands, including Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, S.O.D. and Holy Moses, and grindcore bands Brutal Truth and Exit-13. Biography Lilker was the bassist for the thrash metal band Nuclear Assault and was a founding member of Anthrax with Scott Ian. Lilker was then playing rhythm guitar and recorded bass guitar and co-wrote on their first album, '' Fistful of Metal'' (1984). Not long after the release of that album, he was dismissed from Anthrax and replaced on bass by one of the band's roadies Frank Bello. Despite this, Lilker has remained close to the band, receiving a co-writing credit for at least one song on their next two albums, '' Spreading the Disease'' (1985) and '' Among the Living'' (1987), and he later filled in for Bello on their spring 2024 tour dates. Discharge are an English hardcore punk band formed in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The band is known for influencing several sub-genres of extreme music and their songs have been covered by some of the biggest names in heavy metal and other genres. The musical sub-genre of D-beat is named after Discharge and the band's distinctive drumbeat. The band is characterized by a minimalistic approach to music and lyrics, using a heavy, distorted and grinding guitar-driven sound and raw, shouted vocals similar to a political speech, with lyrics on anarchism, anarchist and pacifism, pacifist themes, over intense drone-like rhythms. Napalm Death are an English grindcore band formed in Meriden, West Midlands, in 1981. None of the band's original members have been in the group since 1986, but since ''Utopia Banished'' (1992), the lineup of bassist Shane Embury, guitarist Mitch Harris, drummer Danny Herrera and lead vocalist Barney Greenway, Mark "Barney" Greenway has remained consistent through most of the band's career.
