Emotions In Motion (song)
"Emotions in Motion" is a 1982 single by American rock musician Billy Squier, which was featured on his platinum selling album of the same name and released as the first single from it. The song is notable for featuring Queen members Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor on backing vocals. The former would later collaborate again with Squier, on his 1986 single " Love Is the Hero". At the time of its release, "Emotions in Motion" received only modest chart success in the US and was later overshadowed by his next single "Everybody Wants You", which became a significantly bigger hit. The single fared better in Canada and remains his second-best charting song there right after "The Stroke". The B-sides, "Catch 22" and "It Keeps You Rockin'", are also taken from the album ''Emotions in Motion''. William Haislip Squier (, born May 12, 1950) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter who had a string of arena rock and crossover hits in the early 1980s. His best-known songs include " The Stroke", " Lonely Is the Night", " My Kinda Lover", " In the Dark", " Rock Me Tonite", " Everybody Wants You", " Emotions in Motion", " Love Is the Hero", and " Don't Say You Love Me". Squier's best-selling album, 1981's ''Don't Say No'', is considered a landmark release of arena rock, bridging the gap between power pop and hard rock. Douglas Lubahn (December 20, 1947 – November 20, 2019) was an American psychedelic rock and jazz rock bassist who played with internationally famous bands. His work is featured on three albums recorded by The Doors. Brief history In 1965, Lubahn was working in a ski resort in Aspen, Colorado, United States, as a ski instructor, when he ran across Cass Elliot, who was with a group called The Candy Store. As Lubahn and Elliot got to know each other, she encouraged Lubahn to travel to Los Angeles, California, to try to find a band there, because at the time many bands were in need of bassists. Musical career Clear Light In Los Angeles, 1966, Lubahn was a founding member of the band Clear Light. ''Clear Light'' was the only album the band created before they split up. Jeff Golub (April 15, 1955 – January 1, 2015) was an American jazz guitarist who had a solo career and who led the band Avenue Blue. He worked as a sideman for a number of rock and pop musicians. He was arguably best known for his work with Rod Stewart. Career Golub was born in Copley Township, Ohio, near Akron. He grew up listening to pop music, rock, blues, funk, and R&B. In the 1970s, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. 1980, he moved to New York city, and worked for rock guitarist Billy Squier. During the 1980s and '90s, he worked as a sideman for Ashford & Simpson, Tina Turner, John Waite, Dar Williams, Vanessa Williams, and Peter Wolf. 1988–95, he recorded and toured with Rod Stewart. ''The Game'' is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 30 June 1980 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. "The Stroke" is a song written and recorded by American rock artist Billy Squier. It was released in 1981 as the debut single from his 3× platinum album '' Don't Say No''. This was Squier's first single to chart (although "In the Dark" charted first at Album Rock), peaking at No. 17 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the Cash Box Top 100.
