Ed Price (American Football)
Edwin Booth Price (January 12, 1909 – March 1, 1976) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach of football. He served as the head football coach at the University of Texas at Austin from 1951 to 1956, compiling a record of 33–27–1. After Blair Cherry's abrupt resignation, Price was promoted to head coach. In his first three seasons, Price carried over the success of Dana X. Bible and Cherry, leading the Texas Longhorns football, Longhorns to three winning seasons and two Southwest Conference titles. In 1954, Texas went 4–5–1, its first losing season in 15 years. After capping off three consecutive losing seasons with a 1–9 season, the worst record in school history, Price tendered his resignation in 1956. He stayed on at Texas, first in the physical education department and later as assistant dean of students. Price died on March 1, 1976, at his home in Austin, Texas. Edgar Hilleary Price, Jr., (January 1, 1918 – December 1, 2012), was a World War II Bomber pilot, Florida legislator, community leader and agricultural manager who fought for civil rights and public education. Biography Early life Price was born in Jacksonville, Florida but his farming family moved to Louisiana, Texas and New York before returning and settling in Florida. He graduated from Sarasota High School in 1936 where he was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball and tennis. He was also student body president. He continued his education at the University of Florida. World War II He enlisted in the Army nearly a year before the United States formally entered World War II. Edward J. Price is an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 58th district of the Louisiana House of Representatives, and is currently a member for the 2nd district of the Louisiana State Senate. Price attended Grambling State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. Eddie Price
Edward Joseph Price Jr. (September 2, 1925 – July 21, 1979) was an American professional football player who was a running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football at Tulane University, he played six seasons with the Giants. Price was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1982. Biography Price was born in New Orleans and attended Warren Easton High School there, class of 1943. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, then attended Tulane University and played college football for the Green Wave. At Tulane, Price was a four-year letterman in football, for the 1946–1949 seasons.
