East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL; ) is a public university in Shanghai, China, founded in 1952. It has three campuses, one in Songjiang University Town in Songjiang District, one in Changning District, and the other in Putuo District. The Chinese New Citizens' Movement () is a collection of numerous civil rights activists in mainland China since 2010. It is promoted by the loosely organized civil rights group "Citizens" (successor to the Open Constitution Initiative ()) with the New Citizens' Spirit: "Free, Righteous, Loving". It is a major component of the civil society movement in mainland China since the beginning of the 21st century. The New Citizen's Movement has close ties to the weiquan movement (rights defending movement), but it has clearer and higher-level charter and pursuits. It is a political movement, which hopes to facilitate a peaceful transition of the country towards constitutionalism. It is also a social movement, hoping to facilitate a transition from a "servants' society" to a civil society. Cao Jianming (; born September 24, 1955, in Shanghai) is a Chinese retired politician who served as a vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress from 2018 to 2023. Previously, he was the procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate. Biography He received his LL.B and LL.M degrees from East China University of Political Science and Law in 1983 and 1986. After graduation, Cao joined the faculty of the same university.
