Don Roberts (ice Hockey)
Donald Roberts (May 27, 1933 – July 24, 2016) was an American college men's ice hockey coach. From 1964 to 1997, he was the head hockey coach at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. At the time of his retirement in 1996, he was the winningest hockey coach in NCAA Division III history. He received the John MacInnes Award from the American Hockey Coaches Association in 1993 and the Hobey Baker Legends of College Hockey Award in 2009. As of 2010, he ranks 15th all-time among college men's ice hockey coaches with 532 wins. Early years Roberts grew up in Appleton, Minnesota, where he was a star basketball player. He enrolled at Gustavus Adolphus College in the early 1950s and played four years at halfback and fullback on the school's varsity football team under Coach Lloyd Hollingsworth. Don Roberts is a former Canadian politician, who represented the electoral district of Porter Creek North in the Yukon Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2002. He was elected as a member of the Yukon Liberal Party in the 2000 election. He served as Minister for Health. In 2002 he was one of three MLAs, along with Mike McLarnon and Wayne Jim, who resigned from the Liberal Party caucus. Don Roberts (November 16, 1934 – January 10, 1999) was an American television art director and production designer. He worked on Norman Lear's sitcoms, including, ''All in the Family'', ''The Jeffersons'', ''Good Times'', '' One Day at a Time'', ''Archie Bunker's Place'' and '' Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman''. He also worked on ''Three's Company'' and its spin-offs ''The Ropers'' and ''Three's a Crowd''. He was involved in the development of at least 46 television programs. Roberts started his career directing musicals for the Santa Monica Civic Light Opera. He also worked on ''The Price Is Right'' for 247 episodes from (1972–1973). Donald John Roberts (born February 11, 1945) is a Canadian-American economist, and John H. and Irene S. Scully Professor of Economics, Strategic Management and International Business at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Biography Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Roberts received his bachelor's degree from the University of Manitoba in 1967, and his doctorate in economics from the University of Minnesota in 1972. In 2007 he received a Doctor of Laws degree (honoris causa) from the University of Winnipeg. After graduation he taught at Northwestern University from 1971 until coming to Stanford in 1980. From 1980 until 2001 he held the Jonathan B. Lovelace Professorship at the school. Donald Van Norman Roberts (June 13, 1928 – January 31, 2016) was a civil, geotechnical and environmental engineer from the United States, and advocate for sustainability developments in engineering. Early life Donald Roberts was born in Fresno, California, as the son to Jewell A. Roberts and Helen M. Roberts. In 1946, he was accepted to Stanford University, where he majored in civil engineering. Having completed his Stanford undergraduate degree in 1950, he attended a civil engineering and geology graduate program at the Imperial College of the University of London, England. At the Royal School of Mines, he completed courses in engineering geology and advanced courses in stratigraphy and mineralogy. On April 9, 1951, Roberts married Charleen Doty in Dawlish, South Devon England. They had four children: Jean Leston, Alice Lynn, Alan Emery, and James Frederick.
