Edward Sedgwick (November 7, 1889 – March 7, 1953) was an American film director, writer, actor and producer. Early life He was born in Galveston, Texas, the son of Edward Sedgwick, Sr. and Josephine Walker, both stage actors. At the age of four, young Edward Sedgwick joined his show business family in what was then the Sedgwick Comedy Company, a vaudeville act, doing a "singing speciality". He played child parts and did vaudeville acts until he was seven, when he was given his first comedy part, that of an Irish immigrant, in a comedy written by his father called ''Just Over''. During this time, he was only on stage during the summer months. In winter his father took him back to Galveston and sent him to school. Gretchen Hartman (born Grace Barrett; August 28, 1897 – January 27, 1979) was an American stage and film actress. She is credited on 67 movies, nearly all silent. Early life Hartman was born Grace Barrett in Chicago, the daughter of actress Agnes A. Hartman. She was the sister of actress Ruth Hartman, and the aunt of actor Carlyle Blackwell, Jr. Career Hartman debuted on stage at the Bush Temple Theatre in Chicago portraying Little Eva in ''Uncle Tom's Cabin''. Her New York debut was in the same play, presented at the Majestic Theatre. She starred in Broadway plays as a child, starting her career at age nine. She started working in the theater under the name Greta Arbin before making her film debut. Robert Klein (born February 8, 1942) is an American stand-up comedian, singer, and actor. He is known for his appearances on stage and screen. He has released four standup comedy specials: ''A Child of the 50s'' (1973), ''Mind Over Matter'' (1974), ''New Teeth'' (1975), and ''Let's Not Make Love'' (1990). The first two albums received Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album nominations. Klein hosted ''Saturday Night Live'' in its first season in 1975 and again in 1978. Wilbur Higby (August 21, 1867 – December 1, 1934) was an American actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1914 and 1934. Stage In the mid-1890s, Higby was a member of the stock company of the Grand Opera House in Boston, Massachusetts. Later in the 1890s and into the early 1900s, he performed with other stock groups in a variety of locales such as York, Pennsylvania; Rochester, New York; and Brooklyn, New York. By 1903, Higby had his own troupe, the Wilbur Higby Dramatic Company, which was described in a newspaper article as "one of the highest class repertoire organizations in this country." Within four years, however, the Higby Company had apparently ceased to exist. A 1907 newspaper article described Higby as "leading man with the Morey Stock Co. this season."
