Disruptor is a library for the Java programming language that provides a concurrent ring buffer data structure of the same name, developed at LMAX Exchange. It is designed to provide a low-latency, high-throughput work queue in asynchronous event processing architectures. It ensures that any data is owned by only one thread for write access, therefore reducing write contention compared to other structures. ''Disruptor'' is a 1996 first-person shooter video game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Universal Interactive Studios and Interplay Productions (Universal in North America, Interplay in Europe) for the PlayStation. Disruptor Records is an American record label founded by Adam Alpert in September 2014, as a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment. The label has sold more than 15 million singles worldwide as of 2016. History Alpert founded the label in 2014, alongside his clients' musical group The Chainsmokers, whom he also helped to form by introducing the members, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall in 2012. The Chainsmokers released several chart-topping songs with the label such as " Closer", "Paris", and " Something Just Like This". Alpert said, "We care about the artist’s career as a whole and not just about the records — that’s the foundation upon which Disruptor was built." A dazzler is a non-lethal weapon which uses intense directed radiation to temporarily disorient its target with flash blindness. They can effectively deter further advances, regardless of language or cultural barriers, but can also be used for hailing and warning. Targets can include electronic sensors as well as human vision. Initially developed for military use, non-military products are becoming available for use in law enforcement and security.
