Directions (PC Quest Album)
''Directions'' is the 1992 second album by the Billboard 100 charting group PC Quest. Like their first album, most of the songs were written by one or both of the songwriting team of Tim James and Steven McClintock (best known for their work with 1980s pop singer Tiffany). Tiffany would later re-record a few of these songs on her 1993 '' Dreams Never Die'' album which was also produced by George Tobin. Album
An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. Steven McClintock is an American singer, songwriter, and a music producer, with almost 20 million records sold to his credit. He has written top 40 hit songs in country, pop and AOR. He has been a part of the music group Fertitta & McClintock (with David Fertitta) since the mid-1970s (they won the "Overall Grand Prize" and "Best Group/Duo" at the International Acoustic Music Awards). He also has done solo work like the song "Maybe Love" on the ''Jetsons: The Movie'' soundtrack, as well as "Edge of a Dream", the soundtrack to the movie '' Space Mutiny'', which was memorably lambasted by the cast of '' Mystery Science Theater 3000'', the song was likewise mocked when it appeared in the closing credits, with the 'bots (Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot) "singing along" using lyrics from other tracks. In January 2009, the track was finally released commercially through McClintock's official Myspace website. It represented an attempt to return to pop success three years after her last album, and five years after her last commercially successful one. It was released in various countries of Asia, but not in the United States; she had retained a greater degree of popularity in Asia than in the United States. Barbara Amesbury
Barbra Amesbury (born 1948) is a Canadian philanthropist, singer-songwriter, composer and filmmaker, who had several Top 40 hits in Canada in the 1970s. Amesbury was the long-time partner of Canadian philanthropist Joan Chalmers until her death in 2016. Known as Bill Amesbury during her active musical career, Amesbury came out as transgender after leaving the music business. Music Amesbury's biggest hit was "Virginia (Touch Me Like You Do)", which was also the first single (1974) to be released on the Casablanca Records label, reaching #14 in Canada. Don Everly
The Everly Brothers were an American rock duo, known for steel-string acoustic guitar playing and close harmony singing. Consisting of Isaac Donald "Don" Everly (February 1, 1937 – August 21, 2021) and Phillip "Phil" Everly (January 19, 1939 – January 3, 2014), the duo combined elements of rock and roll, country, and pop, becoming pioneers of country rock. The duo was raised in a musical family, first appearing on radio singing along with their father Ike Everly and mother Margaret Everly as "The Everly Family" in the 1940s. Cathy's Clown
"Cathy's Clown" is a popular song, written by Don Everly and recorded by The Everly Brothers in 1960. The lyrics describe a man who has been wronged and publicly humiliated by his lover: "Here he comes / That's Cathy's clown". The choruses are sung by brothers Don and Phil in their trademark close harmony style, while Don sings the bridges solo. Tiffany Renee Darwish (born October 2, 1971), known mononymously as Tiffany, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and former teen icon. Pc Quest (band)
pc Quest was a pop music group in the 1990s from Oklahoma. They were managed by George Tobin, best known for managing Tiffany, and Tim James, one half of the duo Rock Mafia. They were featured in '' Bop'' and ''Teen Beat'' magazine as teen idols. The quartet was originally signed to Geffen Records in 1990, but an initial release of "After The Summer's Gone" that fall to Contemporary hit radio stations through both Geffen and Giant Records failed to chart. Months later, now signed to Tobin's Headlinerecords and RCA Records, their "Can I Call You My Girl?" became a minor hit, followed by a reissue of "After The Summer's Gone", which narrowly missed the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. A 1992 follow-up album failed to yield any hits, and the group parted ways.
