Dick Young (cricketer)
Richard Alfred Young (16 September 1885 – 1 July 1968) was an English sportsman who played both cricket and association football for England. As a cricketer he played as a wicket-keeper for Sussex County Cricket Club from 1905 to 1925 and for Cambridge University Cricket Club from 1905 to 1908. He represented England in two Test matches on their 1907–08 tour of Australia. Young was a dual international winning a cap for the England amateur international side against Hungary. Richard Leonard Young (October 17, 1917 – August 30, 1987) was an American sportswriter best known for his direct and abrasive style, and his 45-year association with the New York ''Daily News''. He was elected to the writers' wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1978, and was a former president of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Richard A. Young (August 25, 1930 – March 31, 2012) was an American football fullback and halfback who played college football for Chattanooga and professional football in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Colts (1955–1956) and Pittsburgh Steelers (1957). He appeared in 34 NFL games, three of them as a starter. He also played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1960. Early years Young was born in 1930 in Trumbull, Connecticut, and attended Trumbull High School. He then played college football at Chattanooga. Professional football He was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals in the 18th round (206th overall pick) in the 1954 NFL Draft. He did not appear in any regular season games with the Cardinals. The Bowling Green Falcons baseball team is a varsity athletic program at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, The team plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference. Richard (Dick) Young is an American film producer, director, and cinematographer. Education and career Young attended Augusta Military Academy for high school and University of Maryland for college. He is the son of Sara Young, head booker in the Washington, D.C., office for 20th-Century Fox. He worked in theater exhibitor roles, including at the Independent Theatre Service in Washington, D.C. Young was a student booker at 20th-Century Fox Boston office, transferred to full booker in the Albany, NY office, and was the head booker at the office from which he resigned in 1959.
