Dick Taylor
Richard Clifford Taylor (born 28 January 1943) is an English musician, best known as the guitarist and founding member of the Pretty Things. Taylor was an early bassist for the Rolling Stones, but left the band to resume his studies at Sidcup Art College. While there he formed the Pretty Things in September 1963. He now lives on the Isle of Wight, England. Career Taylor was born in Livingstone Hospital, Dartford, and attended Dartford Grammar School. In July 1962, while he was at Sidcup Art College, the Rolling Stones was formed when Taylor, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards' three-piece group Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys joined Brian Jones and Ian Stewart's Rollin' Stones. Initially, Taylor played lead guitar in the band, but switched to bass to accommodate Jones. That November, Taylor left to return to art college, and his former bandmates posted an advertisement seeking another bassist. Richard John Taylor (28 November 1901 – 25 May 1962) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Richard Taylor (1865-1939), and Charlotte Taylor (1868-1923), née Walker, Richard John Taylor was born at Armadale, Victoria on 28 November 1901. Football Melbourne (VFL) Taylor played as a centreman. He made his VFL debut with Melbourne in the last home-and-away match of the 1922 season, against Fitzroy, at Princes Park, on 16 September 1922. He went on to play 164 games for Melbourne, including 127 consecutive games from his debut until an injury sustained from a kick on the leg in the violent and spiteful 17 August 1929 match against Footscray, in which Taylor had kicked 6 goals, meant that he was unable to pass a fitness test on the morning of the next match and, therefore, could not play in the 24 August 1929 match against St Kilda. Dick Taylor (football Manager)
Richard Eric Taylor (9 April 1918 – 1995) was an English professional footballer who made 167 appearances in the Football League playing as a centre half for Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United. He went on to coach at clubs including Scunthorpe, Sheffield United and Aston Villa, where he was manager from 1964 to 1967. Playing career Taylor was born in Wolverhampton, and began his career as an amateur with hometown club Wolverhampton Wanderers. He made his debut in the First Division with Grimsby Town in the 1938–39 season, but his career was disrupted by the Second World War. He moved on to Scunthorpe United, then playing in the Midland League, in 1948 when he was already 30 years old, and played regular first-team football for five seasons, which included the club's first three years in the Football League. Richard D. Taylor (born April 5, 1931) is a former Iowa State Representative from the 53rd and 33rd Districts. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2000 to 2009. He resigned in October 2009 because of family health concerns. Prior to serving in the Iowa House, Taylor served in the United States Navy and was an electrician. Taylor served on the Robins, Iowa City Council. During his last term in office, Taylor served on several committees in the Iowa House - the Commerce, Local Government, and Veterans Affairs committees. He also served on the Natural Resources Committee, where he was vice chair, and on the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee. Richard George Taylor (born 3 January 1945 in Coventry) is a British former long-distance runner. Athletics career He competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics. He represented England in the 3 miles event, at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica. Four years later, he competed in the 10,000 metres and won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. He was prominent at the 1969 International Cross Country Championships, taking the silver medal behind Gaston Roelants to lead the English men to the team title. Dick Tayler
Richard John Tayler (born 12 August 1948) is a former New Zealand runner who mostly competed in distances from 1500 m to 10,000 m. Tayler was born in Timaru in 1948. He is best known for winning the 10,000 metres at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand. In the race he won in a time of 27:46.4 minutes, beating Dave Black of England by 2 seconds. Tayler competed at the 1970 and 1974 Commonwealth Games, as well as the 1972 Summer Olympics. He finished 12th at the 1st IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Waregem, Belgium, 1973. Arthritis cut short Tayler's running career.
