Deputy Lieutenants Of Aberdeenshire
A deputy lieutenant of Aberdeenshire is commissioned by the Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire. The Lieutenancy Area of Aberdeenshire was previously known as the County of Aberdeen – not to be confused with the former County of the City of Aberdeen. Deputy lieutenants support the work of the lord-lieutenant. There can be several deputy lieutenants at any time, depending on the population of the county. The Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire, is the British monarch's personal representative in an area consisting of the county of Aberdeen as it existed immediately prior to abolition for local government purposes by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 except that part within Aberdeen City. Lord Forbes
Lord Forbes is the senior Lordship of Parliament in the Peerage of Scotland. The title was created sometime after 1436 for Alexander de Forbes, feudal baron of Forbes. The precise date of the creation is not known, but in a Precept dated July 12, 1442, he is already styled Lord Forbes. Brown's 1834 ''Peerage of Scotland'' gives a creation year of 1440. Alexander's descendant, the twelfth Lord, served as Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire. His great-grandson, the seventeenth Lord, was a general in the Army and sat in the House of Lords as a Scottish Representative Peer from 1806 to 1843. David Gordon, 4th Marquess Of Aberdeen And Temair
Major David George Ian Alexander Gordon, 4th Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair (21 January 1908 – 13 September 1974) was a British peer, soldier, and the son of Dudley Gordon, 3rd Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair. Life Gordon attended Harrow School and graduated from Balliol College, Oxford, in 1930 with a Bachelor of Arts, then with a Masters in 1968. He attained the rank of Major in the service of the 5th/7th Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders and fought in the Second World War. Charles Ramsey (Royal Navy Officer)
Admiral Sir Charles Gordon Ramsey, KCB (4 December 1882 – 19 December 1966) was a Royal Navy officer who became Commander-in-Chief, Coast of Scotland. He was later appointed aide de camp to King George VI. Naval career Ramsey joined the Royal Navy as a cadet in 1897. Sir Charles Malcolm Barclay-Harvey, KCMG (2 March 1890 – 17 November 1969) was a British politician and Governor of South Australia from 12 August 1939 until 26 April 1944. The only child of James Charles Barclay-Harvey, of Dinnet House, Aberdeenshire, he was educated at Eton and at Christ Church, Oxford, and served in the 7th (Deeside Highland) Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders from 1909 to 1915, with the Home Staff from 1915 to 1916, with the Ministry of Munitions in London from 1916 to 1918 and in Paris from 1918 to 1919. Sir Victor Mackenzie, 3rd Baronet
Colonel Sir Victor Audley Falconer Mackenzie, 3rd Baronet (15 December 1882 – 18 April 1944) was a British Army officer, baronet and courtier. He was the son of Sir Allan Russell Mackenzie, 2nd Baronet and Lucy Eleanora Davidson. After attending the Royal Military College, Sandhurst he was commissioned into the Scots Guards, being promoted to lieutenant in 1902. On 19 August 1906 he succeeded to his father's baronetcy, and he was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (5th Class) in the same year. He saw active service in the First World War, during which he was mentioned in dispatches and was wounded twice. Alexander Arthur Fraser, 20th Lord Saltoun (8 March 1886 – 31 August 1979), styled Master of Saltoun until 1933, was a Scottish peer who was one of the longest-serving representative peers, serving from 1935 to 1963. Baron Glentanar, of Glen Tanar in the County of Aberdeen, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. Field Marshal George Francis Milne, 1st Baron Milne, (5 November 1866 – 23 March 1948) was a senior British Army officer who served as Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS) from 1926 to 1933. Rear-Admiral Walter Lumsden, (16 April 1865 – 22 November 1947) was a Royal Navy and Royal Indian Marine officer. He was Director of the Royal Indian Marine from 1909 to 1917.
