Daryl Smith (linebacker)
Daryl Lamont Smith (born March 14, 1982) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Georgia Tech. Smith has also played for the Baltimore Ravens. College career Smith attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. At Georgia Tech, he was a four-year letterman and a team captain who led the team in tackles for two of his four years. He started 44 of 46 games while at Georgia Tech, recording 383 tackles, 15 sacks, and three interceptions. Professional career Jacksonville Jaguars The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Smith in the second round (39th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. He was the fifth linebacker drafted in 2004. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Dannell Antonio Ellerbe (born November 29, 1985) is a former American football linebacker. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and has also played for the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Georgia. Raymond Anthony Lewis Jr. (born May 15, 1975) is an American former professional football player who played as a middle linebacker with the Baltimore Ravens for his entire 17-year career in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he earned All-America honors. The 2012 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's 18th season in the National Football League.
