Darshana Railway Station
Darshana ( bn, দর্শনা) is a border railway station in Darsana, Bangladesh, situated in Damurhuda Upazila of Chuadanga District, in Khulna Division. It is a rail transit point and a border checkpoint on the India-Bangladesh border. History Darshana to Jagotee, Kushtia rail line was first opened on 15 November 1861. It was long broad gauge line. It is the first rail road in East Bengal. This rail road established sugarcane supply chain between Darsana (Carew) and Jagotee Sugar mills. Later on this rail road was extended up to Goalundo Ghat. Darshana - Rana Ghat (India) -Benapole -Jessore -Khulna passenger railway communication continued until the early 1960s between East Pakistan and India. Then Darshana to Jessore railway was established and the service discontinued. Darsana station came up with the Eastern Bengal Railway opening the line from Calcutta to Goalundo Ghat, in 1871. Darsana ( bn, দর্শনা) is a small industrial township and municipality in the southwestern region of Khulna Division, Bangladesh. The Eastern Bengal Railway (full name: "Eastern Bengal Railway Company"; shortened EBR) was one of the pioneering railway companies that operated from 1857 to 1942, in Bengal and Assam provinces of British India. Chuadanga ( bn, চুয়াডাঙ্গা, tʃuaɖaŋga), is a district of the western Khulna Division of Bangladesh. Goalundo Ghat
Goalundo Ghat (also spelled Goalanda and Goalondo; bn, গোয়ালন্দঘাট) is a small town and pourasabha in Goalandaghat Upazila, Rajbari District, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh, South Asia. There are two railway stops one at Goalundo Ghat and one at Goalundo Bazar. The town has an area of 4.86 km2 and a population of 22,000 inhabitants (2001 estimate).
