Daniel Campbell (1671/72 – 1753), or Donald Campbell, of Shawfield and Islay, was a leading Glasgow merchant, slave trader and Member of Parliament, nicknamed "Great Daniel" because of his size and great wealth. Dates Campbell was the eldest son of Walter Campbell of Skipnish, and was born about 1671. In many books of reference he is stated to have been born in 1696 and to have died in 1777, the former date being that of his son John Campbell's birth, and the latter that of his grandson Daniel Campbell's death. Merchant At the age of 22 he set up business in New England, before settling in Glasgow, where he traded tobacco for iron ore. He also engaged in the slave trade and in finance. He was very successful as a merchant, and in 1707 purchased the estate of Shawfield or Schawfield, in Rutherglen, from Sir James Hamilton. Daniel Stodhart Campbell (1812 – 28 April 1875) was a merchant and politician in colonial Victoria, a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. Campbell was born in Camberwell, London, England, the son of a clergyman. Campbell emigrated to Sydney in 1838 and soon overlanded to the Port Phillip District (later to become the colony of Victoria) in January 1839 and worked as a merchant. In November 1856, Campbell was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Richmond, a position he held until August 1859. Daniel Allen Campbell (born April 13, 1976), nicknamed "Motor City Dan Campbell", or "MCDC" for short, is an American football coach and a former tight end who is the head coach for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the assistant head coach and tight ends coach for the New Orleans Saints from 2016 to 2020 and also served as an assistant coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2010 to 2015, most recently as the interim head coach and tight ends coach. The Wonder Years is an American pop punk band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, that formed in July 2005. The band currently consists of Dan "Soupy" Campbell (lead vocals), Casey Cavaliere (lead guitar, backing vocals), Matt Brasch (guitar, vocals), Josh Martin (bass, vocals), Nick Steinborn (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals) and Mike Kennedy (drums, percussion).
