Dan O'Dowd
Dan O'Dowd was the General Manager (baseball), General Manager of the Colorado Rockies from September 20, 1999 to October 8, 2014. Before being hired by the Rockies, he spent 15 years working for the Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Indians, working his way from Accounts Manager to Director of Baseball Operations / Assistant General Manager. Biography O'Dowd was raised in Montville, New Jersey and graduated from Montville Township High School in 1976. The results of O'Dowd's GM career have been mixed. Upon taking over the team, he traded fading stars Dante Bichette, Vinny Castilla, and Darryl Kile, opting to build a team around pitching, speed and defense. Montville is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 21,528, reflecting an increase of 689 (+3.3%) from the 20,839 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 5,239 (+33.6%) from the 15,600 counted in the 1990 Census. Ubaldo Jiménez García (born January 22, 1984) is a Dominican-American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles. Jiménez was an MLB All-Star in 2010. That year, he pitched the first no-hitter in Rockies' franchise history. Jimenez earned his 100th MLB career victory on September 22, 2015 as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, while pitching against the Washington Nationals. In 2016, he became an American citizen. Early life Jiménez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. His father, Ubaldo, served in the Dominican Army and the family never had enough money to buy a house. William Paige Geivett (born July 25, 1963) is an American professional baseball player and executive. Career Geivett attended Sacramento City College and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Playing college baseball for the UCSB Gauchos, Geivett was named an All-American. He played minor league baseball for the California Angels organization from 1985 through 1988, retiring after suffering a knee injury. After retiring as a player, Geivett coached for Loyola Marymount University in 1989 and Long Beach State University in 1990. Geivett became a scout and instructor for the New York Yankees organization in 1991.
