''Don't Step on My Olive Branch'' is a musical conceived by Jonathan Karmon, with music and lyrics by Ron Eliran and a book by Harvey Jacobs. It is an Israeli musical in English. Ran Eliran
Ran Eliran (; born December 16, 1934), known as "Israel's Ambassador of Song," is an Israeli singer. Biography Ran Eliran (Menachem Leizerovich) was born in Haifa, British Mandate of Palestine. He was the middle child among three siblings. His Polish-Jewish parents ran a bakery. In the late 1950s, he formed one of the first Israeli folk-style duos, Ran and Nama with Nechama Hendel. In 1958, Ed Sullivan visited Israel looking for young performers to appear on a special show celebrating Israel's tenth anniversary. Eliran and Hendel were the finalists. While the name Ran was not a problem for English speakers, they could not pronounce Nechama, so the duo became known as "Ran and Nama." After their television appearance, the duo toured the United States for a year and a half. Eliran was the first Israeli singer to perform in Las Vegas. Riki Gal (; born July 7, 1950, in Jerusalem) is an Israeli singer. Gal, who reached the height of her career in the 1980s, sings a mix of blues, folk and pop. Biography Rivka Menashe (later Riki Gal) was born in 1950 to an Orthodox family in the poor neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem. In her early years, Gal experienced a hard childhood: her parents divorced when she was two years old and she was taken to an institution in Kfar Saba along with her brother Menachem . Her mother was then able to raise the children on her own, but later could not afford the cost of growth, so she handed her children over to caregivers of the Finnish Lutheran Mission who raised them with strict discipline at the home Shalhevetya. Ruth "Ruthi" Navon Zmora (; born 30 May 1951) is an Israeli Jewish singer and actress. She first came to prominence in the 1970s with her role in the Broadway musical ''Don't Step on My Olive Branch'' and her self-titled debut album, which sold well in her home country. After becoming religious through Chabad, she began a new career in the 1980s as a religious Jewish singer, beginning with the album ''Lead Me to Your Way'' (1988), which was marked "For Women Only" in accordance with ''kol isha''. She has toured throughout the United States, Europe, and South Africa.
