Dennis Wilson
Dennis Carl Wilson (December 4, 1944 – December 28, 1983) was an American musician, singer, and songwriter who co-founded the Beach Boys. He is best remembered as their drummer and as the middle brother of bandmates Brian and Carl Wilson. Dennis was the only true surfer in the Beach Boys, and his personal life exemplified the " California Myth" that the band's early songs often celebrated. He was also known for co-starring in the 1971 film '' Two-Lane Blacktop''. Wilson served mainly on drums and backing vocals for the Beach Boys. His playing can be heard on many of the group's hits, belying the popular misconception that he was always replaced on record by studio musicians. He originally had few lead vocals on the band's songs, but his prominence as a singer-songwriter increased following their 1968 album '' Friends''. Dennis Miller Wilson (1920–1989) was a British pianist, composer, arranger and conductor born 16 February 1920 in Leicester. Biography During his schooldays in his native town of Leicester, Wilson played the piano for the school orchestra before he was sixteen years old. After leaving school, he played in local bands and when the Army claimed him in 1939, he was eventually posted to India where until 1946, he directed the music at one of the garrison theatres. His next move was to join Harry Parry's Sextet for three years, after which he featured in several of the popular bands of the period, including those of Harry Hayes and Kenny Baker. From 1949 he was free-lance with recording, radio and television orchestras and has also had much to do with film music. Dennis B. Wilson (25 June 1921 – 28 June 2022) was a British poet known mainly for his writings as a soldier in World War II. Biography Poems he wrote during the 1944 Normandy landings were published for the first time in 2012 by Kultura Press with the assistance of Tim Crook, a researcher at Goldsmiths College who was working on a biography of Wilson's father, the writer and spy Alexander Wilson. Dennis Geoffrey William Wilson, known as Dennis Main Wilson (1 May 1924 – 20 January 1997) was a British producer of radio and television programmes, mainly for the BBC. Denis Wilson (footballer)
Denis Wilson (born 30 April 1936) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League for Stoke City. Career Wilson started his football career at Welsh side Wrexham's youth team; whilst he was a regular for their Reserve side, he never was able to break into the first team and left in 1955 to join Welsh league side Rhyl. He spent three years at Rhyl and was a stand out performer in the league which attracted the attention of a number of Football League sides. He joined Stoke City in 1958 with Frank Taylor acquiring the full backs signature. He made his debut for the "Potters" in a 6–1 win against Lincoln City in September 1959. Wilson went on to make 13 more appearances for City before new manager Tony Waddington deemed him surplus to requirements and was released in 1961. Dennis Wilson (Kansas Politician)
Dennis M. Wilson (August 10, 1950 – September 11, 2020) was a politician from the U.S. state of Kansas. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Wilson made his political career in the suburbs of that city. While living in Overland Park, Kansas, he was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives from the 29th district in 1995, serving four years there. In 2005, he rejoined the legislature, representing the 37th district in the Kansas State Senate from 2005 to 2008. He declined to run for re-election to the Senate in 2008, and was succeeded by fellow Republican Jeff Colyer. Wilson also worked as the director of the Kansas State Lottery and as a county official for Johnson County, Kansas.
