Dennis Jensen
Dennis Geoffrey Jensen (born 28 February 1962) is an Australian former politician. He was elected to the House of Representatives at the 2004 federal election, winning the Division of Tangney for the Liberal Party. Jensen lost Liberal preselection for the 2016 federal election, and subsequently resigned from the party to stand as an independent. In August 2017 he joined the fledgling Australian Conservatives party. Jensen has a PhD in materials science from Monash University, and before entering politics worked as a CSIRO researcher. He is known for questioning the anthropogenic causation of climate change. Early life Jensen was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, emigrated to Australia with parents and siblings in 1982. He was educated at RMIT University, the University of Melbourne and Monash University, from where he has a PhD in materials science. Dennis Jensen (born 11 September 1969) is a retired Danish long-distance runner who specializes in 5000 and 10,000 metres races. He represented Sparta. Jensen won a number of medals at the Nordic Cross Country Championships The Nordic Cross Country Championships is an annual international cross country running competition that is contested between the Nordic countries. The championships are generally held in mid-November and the host nation rotates every year between ...: winning the competition in 2000 and taking the bronze in 1997, 1998 and 2001. He finished eleventh in the 10,000 metres at the 2002 European Championships. Jensen is a seven-time national champion (1997-2003) in the men's 5,000 metres.
