Dena DeRose (born February 15, 1966) is an American jazz pianist, singer and educator. Although she began her career just as a pianist, medical problems with her hand forced her to become a vocalist as well. She has released seven solo albums. Biography Early life DeRose was born in Binghamton, New York to a construction worker and a former professional ice skater with the Ice Capades. She began playing the piano at age three and soon became a fan of jazz. As a child she also played the organ and percussion, and played the piano in school bands. Jim DeRose (born c. 1967 in Cinnaminson Township, New Jersey) is an American college soccer coach at Bradley University. He also spent one season as a goalkeeper with the New Mexico Chiles in the American Professional Soccer League. Player DeRose attended Johnson State College, playing on the men's soccer team from 1985 to 1988. He was an NAIA first team All American and the New England Player of the Year in 1988. He graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in secondary education. In 1990, DeRose spent one season with the New Mexico Chiles of the American Professional Soccer League. Peter DeRose (or De Rose) (March 10, 1896 – April 23, 1953) was an American composer of jazz and pop music during the era of Tin Pan Alley. Biography A native of New York City, he showed a gift for all things musical at an early age. He learned to play the piano from an older sister. F.B. Haviland published his first song, "Tiger Rose Waltzes", when he was eighteen years old. After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1917, he found a job at a music store as a stock room clerk. His composition "When You're Gone, I Won't Forget" led to a job at the New York office of Italian music publisher G. Ricordi & Co. Anthony Lewis DeRose
Anthony Lewis De Rose (August 17, 1803 - April 16, 1836), also spelled Anthony Lewis DeRose, was an itinerant painter based in New York City. De Rose was born in New York City and began his painting career in 1821 after a year and a half of study, partially as a student of John Rubens Smith. He exhibited a number of portraits in the National Academy of Design from 1829-1833 but contracted tuberculosis in 1834 which perhaps contributed to his early demise. Today he is perhaps best known for his watercolor portrait of Davy Crockett (1834), in the collection of the New-York Historical Society, but his works have also been exhibited in recent decades at the National Academy of Design.
