David Richards (record Producer)
David Richards (1956 – 20 December 2013) was an English record producer, engineer and musician. He was based in Switzerland in the Mountain Studios in Montreux, owned by the rock band Queen, and in Attalens, where he engineered and co-produced many albums by Queen, David Bowie and other artists. Richards also played keyboards on some records and dealt with live music recording in such events as Montreux Jazz Festival. Richards died on 20 December 2013 after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. Record Producer
A record producer or music producer is a music creating project's overall supervisor whose responsibilities can involve a range of creative and technical leadership roles. Typically the job involves hands-on oversight of recording sessions; ensuring artists deliver acceptable and quality performances, supervising the technical engineering of the recording, and coordinating the production team and process. Feargal Sharkey
Seán Feargal Sharkey (born 13 August 1958) is a singer and environmentalist from Northern Ireland. He was the lead vocalist of punk band the Undertones in the 1970s and 1980s and a solo artist in the 1980s and 1990s. His 1985 solo single " A Good Heart" was a number-one hit in the United Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. After becoming less musically active in the early 1990s, he has performed various roles supporting the UK's commercial music industry, winning several awards and honours for his work in that area. Sharkey is also a lifelong fly fisherman, has campaigned against the pollution of British rivers (particularly chalk streams), and is the Chairman of the Amwell Magna Fishery. Barcelona (Freddie Mercury And Montserrat Caballé Album)
''Barcelona'' is a collaborative studio album recorded by Freddie Mercury, lead singer of popular British rock band Queen, and operatic Soprano Montserrat Caballé. It was released in 1988 and serves as the second and final album by Mercury to be recorded outside of Queen. After Barcelona was selected to host the 1992 Summer Olympics, Mercury was approached to write a song as a theme for the forthcoming games. The idea was to create a duet with Caballé, as she was from the city. He had been a long-standing admirer of her and she in turn grew to respect his talents very highly. They decided to work on an album together, with Mercury and Mike Moran taking the creative lead as songwriters. Mercury and Moran made and sent her tapes of the music with Mercury singing in falsetto as a guide vocal for Montserrat's parts. Montserrat Caballé
María de Montserrat Bibiana Concepción Caballé i Folch or Folc (12 April 1933 – 6 October 2018), also known as Montserrat Caballé (i Folch), was a Spanish operatic soprano from Catalonia. Widely considered to be one of the best sopranos of the 20th century, she won a variety of musical awards thoroughout her six-decade career, including three Grammy Awards. Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara; 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991) was a British singer and songwriter who achieved global fame as the lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen (band), Queen. ''Shove It'' is the debut album by UK rock band the Cross released on 13 April 1988 by Virgin Records. The group was founded and led by Roger Taylor, best known as the drummer for Queen, though he was the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist for The Cross. The album features a mix of dance and rock, and can be considered Taylor's third solo album after 1984’s ''Strange Frontier''. The Cross (band)
The Cross were an English rock band formed in 1987 by Queen drummer Roger Taylor. They released three studio albums before splitting up in 1993. In contrast to Queen and other outside projects, Taylor fronted the band and played rhythm guitar instead of drums. On their debut album, which was mostly recorded by Taylor before recruiting the rest of the band, they incorporated dance influences (similar to Queen's 1982 album ''Hot Space'') which were dropped on subsequent albums. History Taylor formed the Cross while Queen were on break after the Magic Tour in mid 1987. He recruited Queen's tour keyboardist, Spike Edney, but advertised for the remaining musicians who were, when the band was formed, guitarist Clayton Moss, bassist Peter Noone, and drummer Josh Macrae. Virginia Wolf were an English rock band from Manchester, England. Their two albums were ''Virginia Wolf'' (1986) and ''Push'' (1987). The band existed from 1977 until 1988 and featured Nick Bold on lead guitar, Chris Ousey on vocals, Jason Bonham (son of John Bonham) on drums, Jo Burt on bass and David John Hinson on keyboards. ''Vigilante'' is the sixth studio album by the English rock band Magnum, released in 1986 on Polydor. Capitalising on the success of '' On a Storyteller's Night'', Magnum changed to a more commercial direction with ''Vigilante''. Magnum (band)
Magnum are an English melodic hard rock band. They were formed in Birmingham in 1972 by Tony Clarkin (guitar, songwriter, producer) and Bob Catley (vocals) in order to appear as the resident band at the Rum Runner nightclub in the city. Magnum have undergone several changes in personnel over the years; however, the core of Catley and Clarkin remained until Clarkin's death in 2024. Magnum's most significant early success was '' Chase the Dragon'' in 1982, which reached number 17 in the UK Albums Chart. ''Blah-Blah-Blah'' is the seventh studio album by American musician Iggy Pop. Released in September 1986, on the label A&M, it is his most commercially successful album. ''Blah-Blah-Blah'' appeared after a four-year hiatus for Pop, with David Bowie serving as his prime collaborator. It would be their final collaboration. A successful tour followed the album's release. Production The collection included a cover of Johnny O'Keefe's " Wild One" (here titled "Real Wild Child (Wild One)" and three original songs co-written with ex-Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.
