Dave Turcotte
Dave Turcotte (born May 21, 1983) is a Canadian politician in the province of Quebec. Turcotte was elected to represent the riding of Saint-Jean in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2008 provincial election. He is a member of the Parti Québécois. Born in Longueuil, Quebec, Turcotte graduated from the Université de Montréal with a bachelor's degree in communications and politics and is owner of a communications agency. He was also an assistant to Saint-Jean MP Claude Bachand of the Bloc Québécois. Longueuil
Longueuil () is a city in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Montérégie administrative region and the central city of the urban agglomeration of Longueuil. It sits on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River directly across from Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census totalled 239,700, making it Montreal's second largest suburb, the fifth most populous city in Quebec and twentieth largest in Canada. Charles Le Moyne founded Longueuil as a ''seigneurie'' in 1657. It would become a parish in 1845, a village in 1848, a town in 1874 and a city in 1920. Bloc Québécois
The Bloc Québécois (BQ; , " Quebecer Bloc") is a federal political party in Canada devoted to Quebec nationalism and the promotion of Quebec sovereignty. The Bloc was formed by Members of Parliament (MPs) who defected from the federal Progressive Conservative Party and Liberal Party during the collapse of the Meech Lake Accord. Claude Bachand (born January 3, 1951, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec) is a Quebec politician who represented the riding of Saint-Jean in the House of Commons of Canada from 1993 until 2011 as a member of the Bloc Québécois. Saint-Jean is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1968. Geography The riding extends along the Richelieu River southeast of Montreal, in the Quebec region of Montérégie. It consists of the northern and western parts of the RCM of Le Haut-Richelieu. The neighbouring ridings are Beauharnois—Salaberry, Brossard—La Prairie, Chambly—Borduas, Shefford, and Brome—Missisquoi.
