The DC Universe is the fictional shared universe that serves as a setting for DC Comics stories, for most of the interlinked mainstream DC comics. DC Universe
The DC Universe (DCU) is the shared universe in which most stories in American comic book titles published by DC Comics take place. In context, the term "DC Universe" usually refers to the main DC Continuity (fiction), continuity. It contains various superheroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash (DC Comics character), Flash, and Aquaman; as well as teams such as the Justice League, the Suicide Squad, and the Teen Titans. It also contains well-known supervillains, including the Joker (character), Joker, Lex Luthor, the Cheetah (character), Cheetah, Deathstroke, the Eobard Thawne, Reverse-Flash, and Darkseid. ''DC Universe Online'' (''DCUO'') is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online game set in the fictional universe of DC Comics. Developed by Dimensional Ink Games and co-published by Daybreak Game Company and WB Games, the game was initially released in January 2011 for Windows and PlayStation 3. DC Extended Universe
The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is based on characters that appear in American comic books published by DC Comics. The DCEU also includes comic books, short films, novels, and video games. Like the original DC Universe in comic books, the DCEU is established by Crossover (fiction), crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. Warner Bros. began trying to bring various DC Comics superheroes together in films in 2002, when Wolfgang Petersen was to direct a crossover of the ''Superman in film, Superman'' and ''Batman in film, Batman'' film franchises.
