Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Nebo" written and performed by Nina Badrić, who was selected internally by the Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) on 10 January 2012 to represent Croatia at the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. Nina Badrić
Nina Badrić (; born 4 July 1972) is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter. She began performing in the early 1990s, and competed in " Dora" – the Croatian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 4 times. She won 7th place in 1993 with "Ostavljam te", 10th place in 1994 with "Godine nestvarne", 18th place in 1995 with "Odlaziš zauvijek", and second place in 2003 with "Čarobno jutro". Badrić eventually represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan with the song " Nebo". She finished 12th in the second semi-final and failed to qualify for the grand final. Croatia selected its entry for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest through the "Dora 1994" contest, which was held on 20 March 1994, organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT) in Opatija. The winner was Tony Cetinski with "Nek' ti bude ljubav sva". Before Eurovision Dora 1994 HRT organised the Dora contest to select the Croatian entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, held in Dublin, Ireland, on 30 April 1994. This was the 2nd edition of Dora, held in Opatija. The national contest consisted of a televised final with 21 songs held on 20 March 1994 selected from a public call for submissions from songwriters and composers. The winner was chosen by the votes of 11 regional juries. At Eurovision Tony Cetinski competed for Croatia the Eurovision contest on 30 April 1994 in Dublin, and finished 16th out of 25 countries, with 27 votes. Serbia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Čaroban" written by Kristina Kovač. The song was performed by Nina. Riva was a Croatian pop band formed in Zadar in 1986. After forming in 1986, the band appeared on Zagrebfest 1988, Performing with the song “Zadnja Suza” (“Last Tear in Croatian). The Eurovision Song Contest 1989 was the 34th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Lausanne, Switzerland, following Céline Dion's victory at the with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), the contest was held at Palais de Beaulieu on 6 May 1989 and was hosted by Swiss model Lolita Morena and journalist Jacques Deschenaux. Twenty-two countries took part in the contest with returning after having been disqualified the year before. The winner was with the song " Rock Me" by Croatian band Riva.
