Communist Party ( tr, Komünist Parti, or KP) is a communist party in Turkey founded in 2014. Development Following a period of internal strife within the then-defunct Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), the party decided to split in two. On 15 July 2014, the two rival factions reached a consensus to freeze the activities of the former party and that neither faction shall use the name and emblem of TKP. The Communist Party of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Komünist Partisi, TKP) is a communist party in Turkey. It was founded as the Socialist Power Party ( tr, Sosyalist İktidar Partisi, SİP) on 16 August 1993. In 2001, the party changed its name to the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and took over the historical legacy of the TKP. Communist Party Of Turkey (historical)
The Communist Party of Turkey ( tr, Türkiye Komünist Partisi, TKP) was a political party in Turkey. The party was founded by Mustafa Suphi in 1920, and was soon to be banned. It worked as a clandestine opposition party throughout the Cold War era, and was persecuted by the various military regimes. Many intellectuals, like Nâzım Hikmet, joined the party's ranks. In 1988, the party merged into the United Communist Party of Turkey, in an attempt to gain legal status. The TKP was active from 1920 until its dissolution in 1988, and it was banned in Turkey in 1925 in order to ensure the country's security after the Sheikh Said Rebellion in Eastern Turkey. The party was legalized again after the Second World War, albeit with very limited power and it was heavily monitored by the Turkish government. Communist Party of Turkey (in Turkish: ''Türkiye Komünist Partisi'') is a clandestine political party in Turkey. The party, which split from the historical Communist Party of Turkey in 1978, is often known as Communist Party of Turkey (Workers Voice); because the main publication of the party is ''İşçinin Sesi'' (Workers Voice). However the party considers itself as the continuation of the historical entity. In the 1980s and 1990s it had strong links with the group around John Chamberlain (who uses the pen-name of "Jack Conrad") and his supporters who publish the Weekly Worker in Britain. Some members of Chamberlain's group went so far as to join the TKP. The Marxist–Leninist Communist Party ( tr, Marksist-Leninist Komünist Partisi, abbreviated as ''MLKP'') is an underground Hoxhaist communist party in Turkey. It was founded in 1994, and has been involved in the Rojava conflict since 2012. History MLKP was formed in September 1994, through the unification of the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist - Hareketi (TKP/ML-Hareketi) and the Communist Workers Movement of Turkey (TKİH).
