Come Out And Play (The Offspring Song)
"Come Out and Play" (sometimes subtitled "Keep 'Em Separated") is a 1994 song by the Californian punk rock group the Offspring. It is the seventh track on their third album, '' Smash'' (1994), and was released as its first single. Written by frontman Dexter Holland, the song was the second single to be released by the band, after " I'll Be Waiting" (1986). It is considered the Offspring's breakthrough song, as it received widespread radio play, with first attention brought by Jed the Fish of KROQ-FM, and reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart, bringing both the band and the punk rock genre to widespread attention. The song also appears as the second track on their ''Greatest Hits'' album (2005). The Offspring
The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and bassist Todd Morse. Over the course of their -year career, The Offspring have released 10 studio albums and have also experienced a number of lineup changes, most notably with their drummer. Their longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987 and stayed with The Offspring for 16 years. Agent Orange (band)
Agent Orange is an American punk rock band formed in Placentia, California in 1979. The band was one of the first to mix punk rock with surf music. History The power trio's original lineup was Mike Palm on guitar and vocals, Steve Soto on bass, and Scott Miller on drums. They first gained attention for their song "Bloodstains," originally appearing on their self-released debut 7" EP in 1980. A demo version of the song was given to Rodney Bingenheimer, a DJ at Pasadena radio station KROQ-FM, who placed it on his seminal 1980 compilation album, ''Rodney on the ROQ'', on Posh Boy Records. ''Come Out and Play'' is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Twisted Sister, released by Atlantic Records on November 22, 1985. Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based on Long Island, New York. Darren Lavett
Darren John Lavett (October 31, 1964 – October 11, 2012) was an American music video director, who directed videos for The Offspring, Bad Religion, Bush, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Claw Hammer, Testament and several other bands. He is probably best known for directing the videos of The Offspring's biggest hits " Come Out and Play" and "Self Esteem". He also directed Eminem's first music video, " Just Don't Give a Fuck". Lavett attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California, and graduated from San Diego State University. Lavett produced the feature film L.A. cult classic ''Southlander''. Lavett was the great-grandson of famed composer of ''"April Showers"'', ''"California, Here I Come"'' and co-founder of Capital Records, Buddy DeSylva.
