Colorado (, other variants) is a state in the Mountain states, Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. It encompasses most of the Southern Rocky Mountains, as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. Denver is the central city of a conurbation region in the U.S. state of Colorado. John Hickenlooper
John Wright Hickenlooper Jr. (; born February 7, 1952) is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Colorado since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 42nd governor of Colorado from 2011 to 2019 and as the 43rd mayor of Denver from 2003 to 2011. Dianne I. Primavera (born January 28, 1950) is an American politician who is the 50th lieutenant governor of Colorado. A Democrat, she previously served as the Colorado State Representative for the 33rd district from 2007 to 2011, and again from 2013 to 2017. Mount Elbert is the highest summit of the Rocky Mountains, the highest point in the U.S. state of Colorado, and the second-highest summit in the contiguous United States (after Mount Whitney).
