In November 2001 he signed a 5-year contract with Iraty. He played for the team at 2003 Copa do Brasil. In 2004, he was loaned to Paraná and played 21 matches in 2004 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Biography After playing for RC Strasbourg as a junior, he went on to Atlético Paranaense before being signed by Australian A-League club Melbourne Victory for the 2006–07 season. Despite arriving in Australia with the greatest reputation of the ''Trio from Rio (Claudinho, Alessandro and Fred'') he failed to make an impact. Club career Early career Born in São Vicente, São Paulo, Claudinho joined Santos' youth setup in 2003, aged six.
