Chris Rogers (cricketer)
Christopher John Llewellyn Rogers (born 31 August 1977) is a former Australian cricketer who played for the Australian national team. Rogers is a left-handed opening batsman. He spent ten years playing for Western Australia, before moving to play for Victoria in 2008. He played county cricket in England for ten years representing five first-class teams: Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Middlesex and Somerset. Rogers holds the record for most half centuries in consecutive innings. Despite being colour blind and short sighted, he maintained a first-class average of nearly 50, yet he did not play for the Australia national cricket team until the age of 30, when he was selected for a single Test match in 2008. He was recalled to the Australia national team for the 2013 Ashes series, aged 35, and over the following two years played a further 24 Tests opening the batting for Australia before retiring after the 2015 Ashes series. Christopher J. Rogers (October 6, 1924 - October 29, 1976) was a Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame jockey about whom the great U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee Eddie Arcaro called "one of the most complete riders he had ridden against or watched." According to the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, "Many horsemen consider Rogers the best jockey produced in Canada." Rogers won his first race on his very first try on Bon Marche at Fort Erie Race Track in 1941 and went on to win 2,043 races in his career including numerous important graded stakes races in Canada. He won that country's most prestigious race, the Queen's Plate, three times: with Epic in 1949, McGill in 1950 and Cosllisteo in 1954. In 1958 Rogers guided longshot Lincoln Road to victory in the Jersey Derby and to second-place finishes in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes behind the future U.S. Hall of Fame colt, Tim Tam. Chris Rogers (born 13 November 1975) is a British broadcast journalist specialising in investigative journalism, and news presenter. He is among the long line up of presenters that began their career presenting BBC Newsround moving on to present and report for Sky News including its BAFTA Award-winning coverage of the 9/11 attacks. He then joined the Channel 4 RI:SE presenting team before heading to ITN's ITV News, and ITV's ''Tonight'' documentary series, where he presented and reported for London Today, London Tonight, ITV Evening News and produced and fronted numerous investigations for the News at Ten and the Tonight programme as ITV's Investigative Correspondent. Leonard Christopher Gordon Rogers (born 29 April 1954) is a mathematician working in probability theory and quantitative finance. He is Emeritus Professor of Statistical Science in the Statistical Laboratory, University of Cambridge. Rogers' specialist fields include stochastic analysis and applications to quantitative finance. With David Williams he has written two influential textbooks on diffusion processes. He was awarded the Mayhew Prize of Cambridge University in 1976, and the Rollo Davidson Prize in 1984. He was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2003. Rogers was an undergraduate at St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated in 1975 and completed his PhD in 1980. Christopher David Rogers (born 10 October 1956 in Fort Victoria, Rhodesia, now Masvingo, Zimbabwe) is a former South African rugby union player. Playing career Rogers made his provincial debut for Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in the South African Currie Cup competition. In the 1980s he relocated to Transvaal, and in 1984 he made his debut for the Springboks against the touring England team at the Boet Erasmus Stadium in Port Elizabeth. Rogers played in all four tests for the Springboks in 1984, the last against the South American Jaguars at Newlands in Cape Town.
