Changwon LG Sakers are a basketball team located in the city of Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. They play in the Korean Basketball League, and their home arena is Changwon Gymnasium which has a capacity for approximately 6,000 people. The team's main sponsor is LG Electronics which has its offices in Changwon. The professional team was established in 1997 and was named Gyeongnam LG Sakers. The name was changed to the Changwon LG Sakers after the first season. LG Sakers has yet to win a KBL championship. The Korean Basketball League (KBL; ) is a professional men's basketball league in South Korea which was established in 1997. The league consists of ten teams and each team plays a total of 54 games (27 home and 27 away) in the regular season. History The Korean Basketball League was established in 1997. ABA Club Championship
The ABA Club Championship was an Asian basketball tournament for professional clubs, organised by the Asian Basketball Association (ABA) under Dr. Carl Men Ky Ching. The ABA is not to be confused with FIBA Asia which Dr. Ching had also once presided. The tournament was first held in 1992. It was named Asian Basketball Super League from 1999 to 2001, and came to a climax in 2000. The tournament was suspended between 2002 and 2006, and has been held annually in China between 2007 and 2013.
