Chamber Of Representatives (Belgium)
The Chamber of Representatives ( Dutch: , french: link=no, Chambre des représentants, german: link=no, Abgeordnetenkammer) is one of the two chambers in the bicameral Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Senate. It is considered to be the " lower house" of the Federal Parliament. Members and elections Article 62 of the Belgian Constitution fixes the number of seats in the Chamber of Representatives at 150. There are 11 electoral districts, which correspond with the ten Provinces (five Dutch- and five French-speaking) and the Brussels-Capital Region. Prior to the sixth Belgian state reform, the province of Flemish Brabant was divided into two electoral districts: one for Leuven and the other, named Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde (BHV), which encompassed both the 19 bilingual municipalities from the Brussels-Capital Region and the 35 Dutch-speaking municipalities of Halle-Vilvoorde in Flemish Brabant, including seven municipalities with linguistic facilities for French-s ... Peter De Roover (born 1962) is a Belgian politician and a member of the Flemish nationalist New Flemish Alliance party. He was elected as a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives in 2014. Biography De Roover was born in Turnhout. The party originated in the split in 1972 of the unitary Christian Social Party (PSC-CVP) which had been the country's governing party for much of the post-war period. Christian Democratic and Flemish (, , CD&V) is a Flemish Christian-democratic political party in Belgium. The party has historical ties to both trade unionism (ACV) and trade associations ( UNIZO) and the Farmer's League. Catherine Fonck (born 22 September 1968) is a nephrologist and Belgian politician. She is currently a member of the Centre démocrate humaniste (cdH). Early life and education Fonck was born in Ciney, in the Province of Namur, in the Wallonia region of Belgium. She graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain in 1993 with a medical degree. Raoul Hedebouw (born 12 July 1977) is a Belgian politician who has served as the president of the Workers' Party of Belgium (PVDA-PTB) since 2021. He previously served as the national spokesperson of the party until 2021, as well as fraction leader in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. He furthermore serves as member of the Liège City Council. Youth Raoul Hedebouw was born in Herstal, Liège on July 12th 1977 in a Dutch speaking Flemish family, he was raised bilingually, both in Dutch and in French.
