Antonio Cassano
Antonio Cassano (; born 12 July 1982) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a forward. A talented and technically gifted player, he was usually deployed as a supporting forward, but could also play as an attacking midfielder, winger, or as a striker. Nicknamed ''Il Gioiello di Bari Vecchia'' ("the jewel of Old Bari"), and ''Fantantonio'' ("fantastic Antonio"), he was known for his short temper as much as his skill and ability on the pitch. Cassano won an Italian and Spanish league title each throughout his career as major honours. Cassano began his senior club career with hometown club Bari in 1999; his performances earned him a transfer to Roma two years later, where he won the Supercoppa Italiana and was twice named Serie A Young Footballer of the Year in 2001 and 2003. Eleonora Cassano
Eleonora Cassano (born January 5, 1965 in Boedo, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine ballet dancer and teacher. She is known for being the dancing partner of Julio Bocca since 1989. Cassano studied in the Teatro Colón's Advanced Arts Institute and begins to work in the Teresa Carreño Foundation of Venezuela. In 1996, she started her career in the musical theatre with the plays ''La Cassano en el Maipo'' and ''Cassano dancing''. Over the following years she would continue dancing in other musicals such as ''La Duarte'', where she played as Evita and ''Cinderella Tango Club''. In the year 2000 she participated in the international Millennium Day event, dancing in Ushuaia with Bocca and the ''Ballet Argentino'' in a performance broadcast to the whole world. Mario Cassano (born 8 October 1983) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Vizzolo Predabissi, Lombardy, Cassano started his senior career at Serie D side Voghera, located at near-by province. In summer 2001, he joined A.C. Fiorentina and played twice for first team. In August 2002, after the bankrupt of ''La Viola'', he joined Empoli F.C. which also located in Tuscany. Cassano all'Ionio, also named Cassano allo Ionio, is a town and '' comune'' in province of Cosenza of Calabria, southern Italy, known in Roman times as ''Cassanum''. It lies in a fertile region in the concave recess of a steep mountain, 60 km northeast of the town of Cosenza, 10 km west of the archaeological site of Sybaris. History Cassano was the site of great Saracen defeat of the Byzantine forces in Italy under Pothos in 1031. The diocese of Cassano was first mentioned in 1059. Main sites The rock above the city is crowned by a medieval castle commanding beautiful views. Its tower was believed to be that from which the stone was thrown that killed Milo, but that may be due to an erroneous identification of the town. Origins of the name It probably derives from the Latin name Cassius with the addition of the suffix ''-anus''. According to others, the name refers to the ancient worship for Janus to whom a small temple was dedicated, that is Jani's house.
