Cartoon Network (Latin American TV Channel)
Cartoon Network is a Latin American pay television channel distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery for the Latin American audience and the Caribbean. It is the Latin American version of the original Cartoon Network television channel in the United States. It is divided into five feeds, all originating from its central headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, United States; four are in Spanish (Mexico, Argentina/Uruguay, Chile/Peru, Colombia/Venezuela/Central America) and the other is in Portuguese for Brazil. The feeds have different schedules. It primarily airs cartoons and animated programming, marketed towards children and teens. Operated in Argentina by Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, it began broadcasting on April 30, 1993, as the first children-oriented cable channel available in the region. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc. ( ) was an American animation studio and production company which was active from 1957 to 2001. ZAZ (TV Channel)
ZAZ was a Mexican cable television network owned by MVS Comunicaciones aimed at children and teenagers. The cable network was launched in Mexico in October 1991 and expanded to the rest of Latin America in 1996. In Mexico and Latin America it was available through various cable television companies. Originally its programming consisted of "non-violent" animated and live-action series, though on its final years the channel's concept was changed, airing series and family movies. The Big Channel
The Big Channel was an Argentinian cable channel aimed at children, owned by Pramer. It was associated with the former toy importer, Cartan. History Early years Although the channel was inaugurated in mid-1989, its debut was in the early 1990s. It succeeded CableMágico, the only channel for children to date. Running 24 hours a day, the main objective was to promote Cartan imported toys, which were mainly manufactured by Tyco, for which Cartan had an exclusive distribution contract in Argentina. All commercials showed the corporate logo, followed by Tyco products such as SpyTech, Hit Sticks, Typhoon, Chattanooga Choo Choo and Domino Rally, among others. Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (alternatively known as Turner Entertainment Networks from 2019 until 2022) was an American television and media conglomerate. Discovery Kids (stylized as DK) is a Latin American pay television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and headquartered in Miami, Florida, which started as a programming block on the Latin American version of Discovery Channel. It launched on 1 November 1996, with programming aimed for older children and preschoolers. It was owned by Discovery Networks Latin America and remains airing alongside Discovery Kids India. The entire programming is in either Spanish or Portuguese, depending on the region. The channel is divided into six live feeds: Pan-regional, Colombia, Southern (plus a Chilean subfeed), Mexico and Brazil, each with their own HD simulcast feeds.
