The canton of Annecy-4 (before March 2020: ''canton of Seynod'') is an administrative division in Eastern France. Annecy
Annecy ( , ; frp, Èneci or ) is the prefecture and largest city of the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of Southeastern France. It lies on the northern tip of Lake Annecy, south of Geneva, Switzerland. Nicknamed the "Pearl of French Alps" in Raoul Blanchard's monograph describing its location between lake and mountains, the city controls the northern entrance to the lake gorge. Due to a lack of available building land between the lake and the protected Semnoz mountain, its population has remained stagnant, around 50,000 inhabitants, since 1950. However, the 2017 merger with several ex-communes extended the city population to 128,199 inhabitants and 177,622 for its urban area, placing Annecy seventh in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Cran-Gevrier
Cran-Grevier is a former commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the commune Annecy. Geography Cran-Gevrier is in the west of Annecy. Part of the town is on a hill (hill of Gevrier). The hamlet of Cran was on the level of the Thiou river. The top of the hill of Gevrier is designated as a natural area. The Fier forms most of the commune's north-western border. History The city draws its origins from two hamlets: Cran and Gevrier. Duingt
Duingt (; frp, Douin) is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The history of the place starts in the Bronze Age (from 1400 to 700 BC) where the first habitats for human settlements were evolved. It was in this epoch where the hallmark of Duingt, the island called ''the island of Roselet'', has been evolved from the lake. The first prehistoric objects such as pieces made of ceramic, bracelets and rings which are exhibited at the museum of Annecy have been found in 1856. Further pieces which relate to prehistoric settlement have been exposed in 1860. Sights The church of Duingt was built in the 19th century in Neo-Gothic style.
