Cannes-la-Bocca station (French: ''Gare de Cannes-la-Bocca'') is a railway station in the city of Cannes, southern France. The station opened on 10 April 1863 when the line from Les Arcs to Cagnes-sur-Mer (part of the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway) opened to passengers. The station is both a passenger station and a goods/maintenance depot. Engine maintenance was transferred from Cannes-Ville in 1880 and the goods yard opened in 1883. Cannes ( , , ; oc, Canas) is a city located on the French Riviera. It is a commune located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, and host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival, Midem, and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Marseille–Ventimiglia Railway
The Marseille–Ventimiglia railway (French: ''Ligne de Marseille-Saint-Charles à Vintimille''; Italian: ''Ferrovia Marsiglia-Ventimiglia'') is a French- Monégasque- Italian railway line. It opened in several stages between 1858 and 1872. It is used for passenger (express, regional and suburban) and freight traffic as the primary railway line serving the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur); a new high-speed line, the LGV Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is planned for opening around 2035 to offer quicker travel times between Marseille, Toulon, Cannes and Nice. Ranguin station (French: ''Gare de Ranguin'') is a French railway station in a suburb of Cannes, southern France. The station opened in 1871 when the line from Cannes to Grasse opened to passengers. The line saw a steady decline in passengers and the station was closed in 1995. TER Provence Alpes-Côte-d'Azur (TER PACA) is the regional rail network serving the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in France. This network is operated by SNCF. Cannes station or ''Cannes-Voyageurs'' (French: ''Gare de Cannes'') is the main railway station for the French Southern city of Cannes. It is situated on the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway. History The station opened on 10 April 1863 when the line from Marseille to Cagnes-sur-Mer opened to passengers. The station was a small elegant building with a rooftop spanning both tracks of the main line. In 1870 the line from Grasse is opened. The engine depot was moved to La Bocca in 1880 and a goods station opened in 1883. With the lengthening of trains, the old station proved to be too small for the growing town. Work on a new station started in 1962. The station building was subsequently replaced by the present structure in 1975. Les Arcs () is a ski resort located in Savoie, France, in the Tarentaise Valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Initially created by Robert Blanc and Roger Godino, it is a part of the huge Paradiski system which is under ownership by Compagnie des Alpes, a French-listed company owning several other ski resorts as well as theme parks.
