Canada Men's National Youth Soccer Teams
The Canada U-17 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-17s or Canada U-17s ) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. Many of Canada's current internationals have played at one or more of these age levels early in their career, often working with the same coaches and teammates throughout their progression into the senior squad. The team has qualified for seven out of nineteen FIFA U-17 World Cups. The team also competes in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship. 1985 CONCACAF U-17 Championship
The 1985 CONCACAF U-16 Championship was the second tournament in the Under-16 category organized by the CONCACAF, and it also served as qualifying tournament for the U-16 world cup to be held at China. Mexico hosted the event between April 13 and 26, and Mexico (as champion) and Costa Rica (as runner-up) won the two spots for China 1985. Competition format The first stage consisted of two groups, one with five teams and another with four teams, where top two advance to semifinals. In the second round, the champion and runner-up obtain final spots for China 1985. 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship
The 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship was the 7th edition of the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship (20th edition if all eras included), the men's under-17 international football tournament organized by CONCACAF. It was hosted by Guatemala between 11 February and 26 February 2023. The top four teams qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru as CONCACAF representatives. Mexico were the defending champions, and won a fifth consecutive title. Qualified teams The 41 CONCACAF teams were ranked based on the CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Ranking as of December 2019. A total of 38 teams entered the tournament. The CONCACAF U-17 Championship is an international association football event in the North America, Central America and the Caribbean region, and is the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Results In 2009 the tournament returned to a championship format in which all four semifinalists qualify to the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The 2009 tournament was cut short due to the swine flu outbreak in Mexico.
