The Canadian women's national basketball team represents Canada in international basketball competitions. They are overseen by Canada Basketball, the governing body of basketball in Canada. They are currently ranked fourth by FIBA. History Pan American Games 2015 The Canada women's national basketball team participated in basketball at the 2015 Pan American Games held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada July 10 to 26, 2015. Canada opened the preliminary rounds with an easy 101–38 win over Venezuela. The following day they beat Argentina 73–58. The final preliminary game was against Cuba; both teams were 2–0, so the winner would win the group. The game went down to the wire with Canada eking out a 71–68 win. Miah-Marie Langlois (born September 21, 1991) is a retired Canadian professional basketball player who played for WBC Dynamo Novosibirsk and the Canadian national team, with whom she participated at the 2014 FIBA World Championship. and the 2016 Rio Olympics. College Langlois attended the University of Windsor from 2010 to 2014, where she led the Windsor Lancers women's basketball team to four consecutive CIS national championships. Miranda Ayim
Miranda Joy Ayim (born May 6, 1988) is a Canadian basketball player for Basket Landes in France. Ayim is a captain of the Canada women's national team and competed for Canada in three Olympics between 2012 and 2021. High school Ayim attended high school at Saunders Secondary School in London, Ontario. She was a starter for the varsity each of her four years. She was on the honor roll all four years and graduated as the valedictorian of her class. Pepperdine Ayim played for the Pepperdine women's basketball team for the four years of her attendance. She set the school record for blocks, with 182 over her career. She scored 1377 points and recorded 735 rebounds, both of which were eighth-best in school history. Basketball At The 2015 Pan American Games
Basketball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 16 to 25 at the Ryerson Athletic Centre. A total of eight men's and women's teams competed in each tournament respectively. Competition schedule The following is the competition schedule for the basketball competitions: Medal table Medalists Qualification A total of eight men's teams and eight women's team will qualify to compete at the games. The top three teams at the South American and Central American and Caribbean Championships will qualify for each respective tournament. The host nation (Canada) along with the United States automatically qualifies teams in both events. Each nation may enter one team in each tournament (12 athletes per team) for a maximum total of 24 athletes.
