Cactus (Indian Band)
Cactus (Bengali: ক্যাকটাস) is an Indian Bengali rock band from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Since inception they have recorded five full-length studio albums and have performed over 2500 concerts across India & abroad. History In the early nineties, the average Bengali youth was restless with the farcical social – political system, the apprehensions of globalization and a sense of alienation. In 1990, the music scene in Bengal was a complete contrast to the present one. Moreover, the average Bengali was not used to the idea of Bangla rock. A very small percentage of the mass would listen to rock music which was essentially in the English language. There was also a severe lack of identification with the local music culture which was only doing English rock music. Psychedelic rock is a rock music genre that is inspired, influenced, or representative of psychedelic culture, which is centered on perception-altering hallucinogenic drugs. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Lakkhichhara ( bn, লক্ষ্মীছাড়া) is a rock band, based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. History The band was formed in 1999. This band initially started playing professionally in college fests, hotels and pubs. In 2001 they recorded their debut album. The album was not commercially successful but some major hits like "Care Korina" and "Shudhu Chai Tomay" were featured on radio channels in Kolkata. In December 2001, the lead vocalist Sayak Bandopadhyay left the band. Subhajit Mukherjee joined the band after he met the band in a school fest, and showed interest in working with them. In 2003 they recorded their second studio album - ''Jibon Chaichhe Aro Besi''. In 2004, Rishabh Ray joined the band and later recorded a new album in 2005 named ''Eka'', the album was a huge success. Chandrabindu (IAST: , in Sanskrit) is a diacritic sign with the form of a dot inside the lower half of a circle. It is used in the Devanagari (ँ), Bengali-Assamese (), Gujarati (ઁ), Odia (ଁ), Telugu (ఁ), Javanese ( ꦀ) and other scripts. It usually means that the previous vowel is nasalized. In Hindi, it is replaced in writing by anusvara when it is written above a consonant that carries a vowel symbol that extends above the top line. In Classical Sanskrit, it seems to occur only over a ''lla'' conjunct consonant, to show that it is pronounced as a nasalized double ''l'', which occurs if ''-nl-'' have become assimilated in sandhi. It was started in January 1993 in Allahabad by Amit Saigal and Shena Gamat Saigal after they noted the lack of a support system for Indian rock musicians. The magazine has grown in popularity ever since and is now published from Delhi. It organizes the yearly Great Indian Rock Festival (GIR) to promote original music of new and upcoming rock bands in India. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Sony SAB (formerly SAB TV) is an Indian pay television channel owned by Culver Max Entertainment.
