National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski"
The Vassil Levski National Sports Academy (), commonly referred to as the NSA, is Bulgaria's premiere higher education institution specializing in teaching physical education. It is named after national hero Vasil Levski. History The academy was established in 1942 by a decree of Tsar Boris III as the Higher School for Physical Education (). It was named Higher Institute for Physical Education and Sport () from 1953 to 1995. In 1995, by decision of the National Assembly, the VIF was renamed the National Sports Academy. The Technical University of Sofia () is Bulgaria's largest and foremost academic establishment for higher engineering education. The university is a state-owned entity with academic self-governance. Founded on 15 October 1945 as part of the Higher Technical School (later renamed to State Polytechnic), it has been an independent institution since 1953, when the Polytechnic was divided into four separate technical institutes. Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" () is a public university, public research university in Sofia, Bulgaria. It is the oldest institution of higher education in Bulgaria. "Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse () is a public university in the city of Ruse, Bulgaria. The university was formed on 21 July 1995 by the dissolution of Higher Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanisation and Electrification of Agriculture () which was commonly known as () with establishment date 12 November 1945.
