Ulead Software
Ulead Systems () is a Taiwanese computer software company headquartered in Neihu district in Taipei, Taiwan. It is a subsidiary of Alludo. History Ulead was founded on 5 August 1989 by Lotus Chen, Lewis Liaw and Way-Zen Chen. They founded Ulead with the support of Microtek after leaving Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry in order to further develop and commercialize their first true color image editing software, PhotoStyler, on the Microsoft Windows, Windows platform. Ulead sold PhotoStyler through Aldus Corporation as a software developer. However, Aldus merged into Adobe Systems in 1994 and PhotoStyler is no longer available. Ulead then continued to develop PhotoImpact 3 as its flagship image editor and sell PhotoImpact by itself. The Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TWSE; ) is a financial institution, located in Taipei 101, in Taipei, Taiwan. The TWSE was established in 1961 and began operating as a stock exchange on 9 February 1962. It is regulated by the Financial Supervisory Commission. As of 31 December 2013, the Taiwan Stock Exchange had 809 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of NT$ 24,519,622 million. The exchange broadcasts before-hour information from 7:40 to 8:40. Then it has normal trading sessions from 09:00 to 13:45 and fixed price post-market sessions from 14:00 to 15:00 on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays declared by the exchange in advance. PhotoImpact
Ulead PhotoImpact (originally called Iedit) was a raster and vector graphics editing program published by Ulead Systems. Alongside its image editing capabilities, the program also featured HTML tools, such as a rollover assistant, an imagemap assistant, an HTML assistant, a background designer and a button library. PhotoImpact also used photoshop filters in .8bf format. PhotoImpact had vast support for graphic file formats but also used its own UFO and UFP file format which supported all the aforementioned features. The last version of PhotoImpact released in 2008 was X3/13. In December 2006 Corel acquired Ulead Systems. Corel continued to market PhotoImpact until September 2009 when they discontinued the product, focusing on the competing product Paint Shop Pro. Aldus Corporation was an American software company best known for its pioneering desktop publishing software. PageMaker, the company's most well-known product, ushered in the modern era of desktop computers such as the Macintosh seeing widespread use in the publishing industry. Paul Brainerd, the company's co-founder, coined the term ''desktop publishing'' to describe this paradigm.
