Sirens F.C.
Sirens Football Club is a professional association football, football club from the north-western seaside village of San Pawl il-Baħar, in Malta. Founded in 1968, they currently compete in the Maltese Challenge League. Club history Sirens FC was first known as "St. Paul's Bay Association football, Football Team" for the seasons 1968–69 and participated in the Amateur Soccer Cup Competition (ASCC). In their debut season, the St Paul's Bay team ended runners up that year. After obtaining such a good placing, the committee applied for affiliation in the Third Division of the Malta Football Association. A delegation from the MFA visited the club, which at that time was on the same premises as the Sirens Aquatic Sports Club. Sirens Stadium
The Sirens Stadium is a stadium in St. Paul's Bay, Malta. It originally opened in 1970 with a sandy pitch, but introduced a new artificial pitch in 2011. It is the home ground of Maltese Premier League club Sirens F.C. It is also used by all Sirens teams from the youth teams up to senior teams for training. It has a capacity of 600. 2019–20 Maltese Premier League
The 2019–20 Maltese Premier League was the 105th season of the Maltese Premier League, the top-flight league football in Malta. The fixtures were announced on 2 July 2019; the season started on 23 August 2019 and was scheduled to conclude on 25 April 2020. Valletta F.C., Valletta were the defending champions, having won their 25th title the 2018–19 Maltese Premier League, previous season. On 12 March 2020, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malta, a decision was made by the Malta Football Association (MFA) to suspend all football activities in Malta for ten days, after initially agreeing for football matches to be played behind closed doors. This suspension was further extended on 17 March to last until 5 April, and then suspended indefinitely on 30 March. ÄŠensu Galea
ÄŠensu Galea (born 28 August 1956) is a Maltese former politician and architect who served as a Nationalist MP in the House of Representatives of Malta. He is a former Minister in various posts that he retained until 2008 when he lost his place in cabinet. He also served as Deputy Speaker. Political life Galea was Secretary of the Nationalist Party Club of St. Paul's Bay. Between 1978 and 1981 he was also Secretary General and President of the Youth Section of the Nationalist Party. Galea first contested the General Elections in the interests of the Nationalist Party in 1981. He was elected member of Parliament in the 1987, 1992, 1996, 1998 and 2003 General Elections. Following his re-election in 1992, Galea was appointed parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry for Social Security. Maltese Second Division
The Maltese Second Division (also known as the BOV Second Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the third-highest division in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Third Division to create the National Amateur League. Maltese Third Division
The Maltese Third Division (also known as the BOV Third Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the lowest league level in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Second Division to create the National Amateur League. History The league was founded in 2000. Until 2011 the division comprised two sections - Section A with eleven teams and Section B with eleven teams. Both sections play two rounds with the winner in each group getting promoted to the Maltese Second Division. Relegation play-offs between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of both groups and the 10th-place finisher of Second Division determined the third team to be in the Second Division. Attard F
Attard () is a town in the Northern Region of Malta. Together with Balzan and Lija, it forms part of the "Three Villages" () and has been inhabited since the Classical Period. It has a population of 12,268 as of 2021. Attard's traditional Latin motto is ''Florigera rosis halo'' ("I perfume the air with my blossoms") due to its many flower gardens and citrus orchards. Attard is abundant in public gardens. The inhabitants of Attard are known as ''saraċini''. Swieqi United F
Swieqi () is a town in the Eastern Region of Malta. It is a residential area just 15 minutes by bus from Sliema and within walking distance of Malta's nightlife and entertainment centres, Paceville and St. Julian's. As the town developed, residential estates took over farmland. The town's name means "water channels", a reminder of the region's past. It has an estimated population of 14,452 as of 1 January 2019.
